2000 DODGE RAM 1500 CONVERSION VAN V8 5.2L ENGINE a/c, driver power seat, original radio, tv, vcr, window shades for all rear windows I am selling this van for my grandparents. It has become too big for them to drive around for everyday use. They are the original owners. It always had routine Maintenance and oil changes every 3000 miles. My grandfather was strict about that. Engine and Transmission are strong with no issues Tires are 70,000 mile michelin with only about 5000 miles of use on them. Almost brand new There are a few problems that will need to be fixed and I will be as thorough and honest about them as possible: The engine light comes on because of a faulty heating element inside the o2 sensor. Everytime we go to replace it, it starts working again and the engine light turns off. Currently the engine light is on but feel free to come by with a scanner to recheck the codes. We have found the sensor as low as $50 but from the constant heating and cooling of the exhaust, the sensor is on there pretty tight and we dont have the tools to get it off without stripping. We recently had a no start issue. Had the computer changed (ECU) which now has a lifetime warranty and also replaced the Neutral Safety Switch. The van has been starting fine since. The power door locks have stopped working. We were told this type van has a problem with wires being crimped with the constant opening and closing of the doors but we never looked into it. Weve been using the key to unlock the doors since. The passenger side window does not work. it will sometimes work if you hold down the button while shutting the door. This makes me think it is a connection issue. There are a few issues with the body but nothing a little bondo and paint cant fix. You can see in the attached pictures. also the interior roof has some damage in the back from a move. Ive attached a picture of that as well. Those are all of the issues with this van. Its not a tear just an area where the stitching came apart. The carpet in the front passanger side has an area that is discolored from dirt. We tried to clean it up with soap and water with no luck. Thanks On Oct-24-12 at 15:40:24 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE!!!! WE WERE ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE NON START ISSUE. IT WAS STARTING FINE UP UNTIL TODAY. IM HAPPY TO SAY THAT IT IS CAUSED BY A LOSE LINK ATTACHED TO THE TRANSMISSION CAUSING THE VAN TO NOT BE FULLY IN PARK. WE THOUGHT THIS ISSUE WAS ORIGINALLY THE ECU. WE ARE STILL USING THIS VAN EVERYDAY AND JUST THIS MORNING IT WOULDNT START AGAIN. WHEN I WAS CHECKING OUT THE NEWLY INSTALLED NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH, I NOTICED THE LOSE LINK. THIS IS A VERY EASY FIX. I WAS ABLE TO START THE VAN IN NEUTRAL 100% OF THE TIME. IT WILL STILL START IN PARK IF YOU SWITCH OUT AND BACK INTO PARK. I only was allowed to add 1 more picture so I had to merge them together. They both are the last picture in this auction. Just a little more info about the no start issue: The van as it is now only has this problem every so often. It started a few months ago but only happens on average twice a month which is why it was so hard to pinpoint the cause. I did some research and this may only need a new bushing to make a better connection from the trans to the shift linkage. The bushing is only about 3 dollars. We are still using this van everyday with no worries because we know now that if she doesnt want to start, we just switch into another gear and back into park and she starts right up. This rarely happens and should be an easy fix but its something I need to explain thoroughly for all potential buyers
