1957 Lincoln Premiere Convertible. Here is an opportunity to own a very sought after Lincoln and one of the most rare convertibles of the 50s. The Lincoln Premiere was an award winning car that was only produced from 1956-1960 and was based off two concept cars the Mercury XM-800 and 55' Lincoln Futura. During the decade of styling excess, the 57' Premiere had the tallest wing coming out of Detroit that year and is a unique 1 year only design. This 57' Lincoln was part of a private estate collection for the past 14 years. Prior to this listing, it was never advertised for sale. The owner residing in Pennsylvania, bought numerous cars from the west coast to compile his collection. The goal was to own cars that would never need rust repair, panel cutting, or floor/trunk replacement. Compared to the very few that remain, this car is as solid as you will find for a 57' Premiere with all original body panels, floors, and trunk. These cars are virtually non-existant unless you want to buy a fully restored car which ive seen selling well over $100,000 and in a good economy as high as $275,000. (RM auctions 2006). Research will show you the 57' Premiere convertible is the most rare and desirable of the Premieres production run. In 57' the Premiere came with a 368 cubic inch 300 hp V8. Which had higher compression and 15 more horsepower from 1956 version.Equipped with power steering, brakes, windows, seats, antenna, and CVT top.This Premiere originally was a white car. The estate had said the prior owner had average cosmetic/restoration work done and painted it long before their father bought it. This shows the car had very little rust nothing has came through the paint except a few very small bubbles at the front of the drivers front fender.The tires are like new, the chrome wire wheels are in great shape, the exhaust system was recently done, and a brake master cylinder. On Oct-20-12 at 07:14:30 PDT, seller added the following information: This car was parked in a climate controlled multi-car garage for about 7 years. The convertible top on the car was replaced right around that time so it is basically new. However the rear window is unzipped and i cannot get it to reach and zip up. It is also cloudy. Maybe the right cleaner could get the film off but im not sure. I added a few pictures to the listing. The car is very solid underneath....very minor surface rust on the frame, no signs of prior cutting/repairing, or undercoating coverup attempts.
