1980 BMW 528i , converted over to euro bumpers ( NOS from BMW dealer / $2,600 plus a pain-in-the-rear install , but worth it ) .... deleted side markers. lowered with Suspension Techniques springs approx 1.25", new Bilsteins. 16" staggered Alpinas ( $2,500 ) ... real deal / not replicas ,with fresh Michelins on them / adapter milled to use original BMW center caps. ( Spare tire on Alpina rim too ) Original 5 spd with Redline. ( all fluids synthetic ) , custom Ron Davis aluminum radiator ( $650 ). new pads / rotors / clutch ... etc. New gas tank , drive shaft, SS flex brake lines, rebuilt calipers. Maintained as a daily driver. Go anywhere. A few rust spots near windshield have popped up in the last 2 months. ( I've had the car 6 years / bought in Bend , Oregon ) Added yellow film to bright / high beam lights. ( easy to remove ) Red leather interior is in fabulous shape ... front and back. Did a Leatherique treatment and color touch-up. Exact match ( door panel sent off for match ) Bottle with extra color. Enough to do entire car !! Carpet removed and washed ... first rinse looked like coffee. Berber matts from Bavarian Auto Sport / old NOS rubber matts ( grey ) on front only. Nakamichi streo with A.D.S. amp and sub-woofer. New gas tank and gas line. All maintenance records ... everything up to date by an enthusiast. AC disconnected ( no belt ) / needs re-connecting too on dash. Takes a charge easily ( a good sign ) Slight power drain ( I suspect automatic door locks ) so I have power disconnect on Optima battery when I'm not driving it. No rust around wheel wells / bumpers / etc. Just some 'normal' stuff that crops up on older cars. i.e. not a rust bucket / and I have seen some. Rust spot at edge of rear window . Odometer is six digit / mileage is original / has not =turned over = Ready to drive anywhere ... picked this up in Oregon 6 years ago ... drove it cross country / like a dream she drives ...Questions ? Ask .... NOTE : As per requests / a few pics of emerging rust. lower rear window ( passenger side ) , lower front window ( driver's side / black from POR-15 ) , lower edge of passengers front door. Car is for sale locally / i.e. listing may end if it sells locally. ADDITIONAL NOTE : There has been quite some interest in the Alpina rims / wheels separate from the car. If you have your own wheelset ( everbody has their preferences as far as looks / size / etc. ) , then make an offer. We'll see if something can be worked out ( i.e. lower car price / you supply the wheels ) Just a passing thought.
