Not very many of these on the road anymore. Tired of seeing clapped out "R" models?? T5s hard to come by or you got outbid on my last one??? Don't worry...HERE's your rebound shot!! BEAUTIFUL TURBO SEDAN loaded to the roof with barely any miles on the clock!! It's essentially the "T5" before it was called a T5. They didn't start the T5 badging until 1997. Pretty sure the only difference between the models from a sepcific standpoint is the computer system. Otherwise put them both together and you can't visually tell the difference. Parts, repairs, maintenance are all the same. This particular car is in amazing condition! Of course the car is far from perfect, note the butt-sized dent in the right rear quarter. But as you may or may not know, Volvos don't rust, or not very easily. This one is free from it. It must have had some paintwork along the way since there is a bit of clearcoat peel. Doesn't look to be an accident repair. But again, looks amazing considering it's time on this planet! Also amazing is the fact that the bumper covers are still intact. They have some chips and scrapes. A bit of less than quality paint touchups, but no cracks or damages or repairs. Headlight wiper blades are long gone. Vinyl has the typical fade, but looks nice. Even the front driving lights work! Body is ridiculously straight. Only a handful of dings and no dents, except the right rear quarter. Repaint work is minimal and most obvious from the clearcoat peel. This area is the roofline right rear, see pics below. Tires up front are recent Continentals on clean minimally scraped vibration free rims. Rear tires are Goodyear with about 50+% tread left. Hard to see but the brakes look fairly new as well. NO pulsing. Brakes will stop on a dime. Hood, roof and trunk look great. Rear bumper cover has it's chips and flaws but again, no damages. Car is in desperate need of a nice tailpipe tip. The one that was on there was a crappy screwed-on cheapie parts store type that rotted off. So I removed it. Yes, the exhaust is fine and quiet. Look closely and you can see the dent. Actually, it's hard to see but it's there. Pull the inside trunk liner and pop it out. Above you can see the clearcoat peeling mostly around the rear door frame. One little spot on lower rear door. Nothing major and very hard to notice until you get up on it. Easily re-cleared if desired. As I said earlier....front bumper cover has it's touchups and chips. Again, no major damages. As you can see, the interior is an EASY 8+ out of 10! No leather holes or damages. The driver's bolster looks great with minimal wear. No sun fading or usual dashpad flare from the sun over the years. Woodgrain accents look great. I hate smoke and I can't see or smell any signs of a former smoker owner. From what I can tell, all the power items work as they should. Important ones like power driver and both heated seats, power windows/mirrors/sunroof, info panel, dual climate control, ICE COLD AIR CONDITIONING, etc. The cruise control doesn't work, sorry. Even has the optional 6 disc CD CHANGER! Only thing to complain about is the radio. The front speakers come in and out. Usually internal. Easy radio to hunt down and replace or add an aftermarket. Finally, the headliner has a few loose spots but not hanging. As I ALWAYS try to display....ALL the dummy lights illuminate upon startup with NONE on during run. No issues. Yes, the odometer is correct and properly working. Note the CD Changer. Complete with proper cartridge. Unseen is the complete intact spare tire setup. WOW! Cupholder is complete and working!? Even has a working keyless keyfob and 2 proper keys!! Books are minimal but nice to see after all these years! Onto the final section, the engine compartment. Beautiful and well maintained. I salvaged the timing tag as best that I could and personally inspected to be sure, but the timing belt was changed thru Volvo at approx 88k. Giving you about 25-30k more left on this current belt. Spark plugs, air filter are fine. I believe I installed new plugs in this car with NGK V-powers. The oil, coolant and transmission fluids are clean. Absolutely no signs of any major oil or coolant leaks. Not leaving any spots on my shop floor. Battery is a new AAA version. The car starts runs and drives excellent. ZERO engine noises. Transmission shifts properly in all modes. Turbo is strong and smooth. Only ONE issue to address and ONLY if you decide to fix. The turbo boost controller doesn't work. I bypassed it and it now runs at a low boost factory turbo setting. Meaning, excellent for teen driver's, to keep the power at bay. This part ALWAYS fails and was fixed on the newer models with a replacement updated version that is now used even on the newer Volvos. So...the car basically feels like a GLT low pressure model instead of the higher horsepower TURBO/T5 versions. I mention it so you know. I believe it's about a $45 part, but don't quote me. The suspension of the car is tight and quiet. Car drives straight with no unusual pulling or wandering. As mentioned the brakes are very recent and strong. BID, BUY, and DRIVE ANYWHERE with 100% confidence!! I've logged about 200 miles on this car with no worries.
