This is a 1946 Ford, 1-ton truck with a rare bed option. This post war truck is in near perfect condition with no rot or rust in the entire truck to speak of. The truck was originally told to have been bought from a museum's stock of their vehicles to be restored. This is a rare optioned truck that is a true 1-ton truck but has a regular truck bed on it instead of a flat bed which most came with. It is thought to be a special order or even a military ordered truck that was never used in service. The truck's bed is the exact same as the 46 Fords of the day but is much larger in proportion as compared to a 1/2 ton truck. The lug pattern is an extra large 5 lug pattern. The engine is the early flathead V-8 engine with a 4 speed manual transmission. The truck has no rust in it and is very solid...looks to be never used or driven for any length of time. The truck has always been in dry storage to my knowledge and shows it. It does run and drive and has many NOS Ford parts that goes with it that was with the truck from the museum....such as steering wheel, glass, wiring harness, etc., etc. The trucks gas tank will need to be replaced as sitting gas has rusted it through the years. This is a near perfect example of a bed optioned 46 Ford 1 ton that I've ever seen or had. You won't be disappointed in it's condition. **Truck is in great condition but will need restored to your liking. Not really hot rod or rat rod material but I have seen stranger???
