SCROLL BELOW FOR 55 INCREDIBLE PHOTOS! 1963 Chrysler Imperial Crown If you're looking for a classic car that symbolizes the 60’s, a car whose ownership proved that you ‘had made it,’ the Chrysler Imperial Crown was it. And this Imperial Crown is one of the nicest original 60’s Imperials that you will find. It was meticulously cared for and garaged all of its life. It is a nearly 50 year old vehicle that impresses today as much as it did when it was new. Re-finished in its original ‘Claret Poly’ (Burgundy Metallic) color approximately eight years ago, this Imperial is an outstanding example of Chrysler’s best. The quality of the finish is superb. It retains a high luster and even ‘feels’ silky to the touch. The body is rust free, even in the areas you know are vulnerable. Lower quarters, doors and fenders are solid. The original chrome bumpers are still nice, but not good enough for a national show. Glass is excellent all around, with no fogging or cracking. The first thing prospective purchasers always ask me is: is the car STRAIGHT? Well, if you look up the word 'straight' in the dictionary, you’ll find a picture of this Imperial :-) Look down the sides of this car (see the numerous close-up photos). It's as straight as it gets. This is an exceptional automobile. The interior of the car is all original except for new carpeting. Door panels are quite nice and the padded dash has no cracks. The original leather upholstery has been dyed but still looks very nice considering it is nearly 50 years old. Mechanically, this Imperial is 100%. The big 413 cubic inch V8 starts up every time. It's smooth and 'sewing-machine' quiet. The pushbutton 3-Speed Torque-Flight automatic transmission shifts just as it should. The power windows glide up and down perfectly, the power vent windows open and close seamlessly and the power seat works as new! The trunk compartment is beautiful to look at. It’s clean and neat, with the spare and all the original jacking equipment. Now look under the hood. It's a clean original engine compartment that would do well in a local show, but would need additional detailing for a national show. The shipping weight was 4740 pounds and it had an original selling price of $5656.00. The 1963 Chrysler Imperial won the luxury class in the Mobil Gas Economy Run with slightly more then 14 MPG.
