1966 Ford Mustang CoupeResto- ModGREAT WEEKEND CRUISER!NO RESERVE!!!!You are bidding on a 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe, This car comes equipped with the “C” code 289 V-8 backed by the factory C4 Automatic Transmission. This car underwent an amateur Resto-Mod restoration in late 2006. The Resto-Mod items include 17” Alloy Wheels back by V-Tread Kuhmo tires. This wheel and tire combo was added by the previous owner less than 6 months ago at a cost of almost $1500.00. It also has majority of emblems shaved and seems have the appearance it’s slightly lowered but unsure if it is. The interior seems to be factory other than a new Pioneer FM/CD/iPod/USB system with (2) Pioneer 6x9’s in the rear dash. I purchased this car in mid August 2012 from a couple in Dayton, OH. They purchased it from the gentleman that completed the restoration just a couple of months after it was completed. They utilized the car as a daily driver for a short period then as a weekend cruiser. They ended up purchasing a Jeep Wrangler was the reason they sold the car to me, the wife cried as she took pictures on her iPhone of it being loaded on the trailer. Mechanically this car is flawless. This car runs and drives like a dream on the modem wheels and tires combo. The engine runs perfectly smooth. The transmission was rebuilt with a shift kit and turns the gears with some power. I was also told by previous owner a 9” Ford posi-traction rear end was installed during the restoration. The car stops very well for a vehicle without power brakes and it handles just as good down the highway without power steering. All lights, signals, gauges work on this car. That is rare for these old Mustangs, even the fuel gauge works accurately. This is the big selling point the important stuff works flawlessly and performs as good as any new late model car. Cosmetically this car is in average driver quality. For a weekend cruiser it does everything I could ask out of it and more. The restoration was done by an amateur and it shows in some areas. Don’t get me wrong, standing a few feet away from this car or cruising down the road at 60 any flaws go unnoticed. When you get close to the paint you can see some what they call in the industry orange peel along with a few areas of bubbling. There is also a area on hood with a few dust particles in paint that I was advised could possibly be wet sanded out. The previous owner said he has it 6 years and these spots never got any larger. As you look around this car you can find minor flaws you will find on any classic that is driven. Interior is average for a weekend cruiser. There are no rips or tears in seats. The stereo sounds good playing “Mustang Sally” while cruising down the highway, All windows and door function properly. A few creases in the carpet where you can tell it was installed in a hurry, could be straightened out and removed by new owner. The headliner and dash are in like new condition. If you are looking for a car to enjoy on the weekend or even make a daily driver, I would not change anything on this car. A person looking for a show car could not have a straighter ride to begin a concourse restoration with. We get compliments on this car everywhere it’s driven. I almost hate to even get it out for a quick cruise because I know if we stop anywhere someone will approach us and want to have a lengthy conversation about it. The wife and I have drove it about 500 trouble free miles over the past months to different cruise-ins and have really enjoyed it. I would not be afraid to let my wife take this car on a road trip with her friend to Florida tonight, its that reliable!!!!$500 Non-Refundable Deposit due within 24 hours of auction ending.
