Vehicle Detail

This car has everything! Restored fully about 3 years ago and has about 2,000 km since. A freshly overhauled AMC 401 engine in a car that weighs 3,000 lb = FAST. Engine has a Demon 750 carb, Chrome-Ceramic Hooker headers, New Torker intake, MSD Ignition with Crane box. Made 332 H.P. at the rear wheels on the dyno. Cooling system is a new C&R (Nascar) aluminum rad with dual electric fans. (there's about a thousand bucks right there!) Car has done 12's at the track. Drivetrain is T-10 4 speed manual, Moser solid rear axles with CalTrac type bars, Centerforce clutch, 3" driveshaft, Lakewood scatter sheild, driveshaft loop. 3:54 posi rear end gives about 3100 RPM @ 100 KPH. Brakes are all-new manual with front discs, line-lock, and all new brake lines. Body was purchased in southern U.S. and was 99% rust free and straight. Painted base/clear in AMC Wild Plum Metallic. Paint job is about 7 out of 10. All chrome is amazing. Both bumpers triple re-chromed, mirrors are mint from Arizona, locking gas cap, door handles and rear air deflector were NOS when installed. 4 Cragar s/s rims were new when installed. Windshield was new when installed. All other glass is factory tinted. I have a new set of 1972 white Gremlin-X stripes for this as well as the correct white paint for the tail panel. The interior was all properly re-done. All plastic restored and painted with expensive SEM paint. Front seat covers are new Legendary covers, professionally installed. Carpet is all new with soundproofing installed underneath. Car was appraised last year by RJ Vintage Garage Appraisals at $24,860. *all items stated "new" or NOS were in that state when installed in the last 3 years. Very little road time since then. Also please note that this colour is cameleon-like to a camera. :-D From different angles (only with a camera) it becomes pink, red, barf-coloured. (Ken bangs head on desk) The car is PURPLE !!! If you would like to talk about this car, please email me a phone number and a good timeframe to call. I can't do any trades etc. I've spent about $30,000 building this car. I will add more pics shortly. This car gets noticed bigtime wherever it's driven. It's always a star attraction at cruise nights and turns heads like an Elvis sighting. Everyone thought they were "extinct" LOL. Thanks for looking. KenOn Sep-26-12 at 18:58:35 PDT, seller added the following information: *New update. I have been asked about the "stance" of the car. I shall clarify. (it's GOOD). Some of the pix were with a different set of front springs that I tried after the V8 conversion. The front end sat kind of high. (when it was compared to a JEEP, I knew I had made a mistake). I later tried a different set of springs that gave it a very cool "attitude". Look at the pic from the track with the fire truck in the background. ;-) That's how it sits now. It's a very cool stance. The thing just looks "mean". I've also been asked if the body has been "cut". Nope. The only "cut" was to convert it from a tree-shifter to a floor shifter. Otherwise the body is all original. On Sep-26-12 at 19:06:38 PDT, seller added the following information: I'll shoot some new "stance" pix and post before saturday. ;-) The car has "attitude". :-DOn Sep-27-12 at 08:39:24 PDT, seller added the following information: I've been asked what I mean by paint being "7 out of 10". (Darn-it Jim. I'm an Engineer, not a used car salesman!) :-D To clarify, the paint overall is very-very good. I downgraded it from 10/10 because of tiny imperfections like the tiny one you can see in the gas cap pic. There is also an area in the center of the roof where there might have been some dust of something. Hard to notice, but it's there. The top of the hood also has some hard-to-see gloss-inconsistancy from some angles and a stone chip that needs touching up. Maybe a good body guy could buff out minor flaws and bring it to 9/10. There is also a small dent below where the front bumper wraps around the front fender on the drivers side. It can't be seen without getting down and actually looking for it. It's very low down where the fender curves under. I have some of the original paint left from when it was painted and it will go with the car. I'll post close-ups of paint friday. On Sep-28-12 at 12:06:10 PDT, seller added the following information: Today's update- I've added a few pics shot today of the car in it's present cool stance. (with trees in background) Also added the cam card and dyno results. The dyno was at the rear wheels. I've discovered that the front wheels produce no power at all. 8-O In a couple of the front 1/4 shots, you can see the small dent below where the front bumper wraps around the drivers side front fender. This would be an easy fix but I never got around to it. It's also very un-noticable just walking around the car. I tried photographing paint imperfections but they are really subtle and hard to see. Maybe I was too hard on the girl with my 7/10 paint rating but I also don't want to mis-represent. ;-)
