Is it really time for that beat up Taurus to eat up another new set of tires? The minivan has GOT to be on it's last leg. It's time....time for a REAL toy for your everyday driver! The FUN PEDAL on this car is on the right side...it has 235hp and gets a REAL 25-30+ MPG without all the new car hype and prices. The 1998 T5 is my favorite model! Even more rare is the Manual version, which I've owned in sedan and wagon models. Reliable is an understatement! Ultimate is a better word....older 850 drivetrain with the newer S70 looks equals great car. Look it up...not many T5s for sale let alone the 98 model years. This car is an easy 7.5 out of 10. It's not perfect in appearance but it's mechanicals make up for it. It looks beautiful from 10 feet away and will still bring you joy at the carwash. Just enough dings and scratches to let you park anywhere or let anyone drive it with no worries. Most of the scratches are touched up. Most of the dings can be dentbusted out if desired. Or just leave em and drive! Below you can see a few dent creases from someone being impatient on trying to open the hood. As most Volvos, this one is free from any visible rust. There are signs of PROPER repainting, but no signs of any major body repair. The former owner(s) at least attempted to keep te car nice. Most likely lived in a major city where others typically don't care as much. Either way, you can clearly see the car looks great for it's age an technically low miles! All tires are decent but mismatched brands. Fronts look at least 80+% and ride on vibration free rims. Only a little lip scrapes on a couple of the rims are present. No leaks or vibrations still offer a nice appearance. The hood, roof and trunk lids look great! Front and rear bumper covers have seen better days but look nice with a minimal amount of cuts and scrapes. No holes or major damages tho. I tried to point out the 3 major eyesores on the exterior as best I could. Very small but too large to not point out. Above is clearly a 2 inch long scratch/ding and below is an "outtie" dent. Like something large in the trunk or a dentbuster that went a lil overkill with his tools! I didn't even detail the car much and the shine is clearly awesome! Looks very nice for a red car. Below you can't really see any of the bumper cuts but they are there, once you squat down and look for them. Right rear tailight has a light crack but mostly along the inner edge/seam on the trunklid side. Easily replaceable for cheap if desired. Currently it's not an illegal issue so I left it alone. Above you can see the 3rd eyesore on the front right corner of the bumper. Still holding it's color, it's scraped up on the top and corner. Again, not bad until you get close to it. Below the interior is also a 7.5 out of 10. No damages to the leather, but the driver's seam has split. Easily repaired with an experienced sewing person. Driver's bolster is barely worn. Carpet looks great. Vinyl looks nice with only a few cuts on the typically seperating door panels. Minimal wear on the center console. ALL the power items seem to work as they should: power heated seats, ICE COLD AIR CONDITIONING, sunroof, mirrors, windows, locks, radio, power antenna (is sticky but works), climate control, etc. I got the cruise to work once, but not consistant. Possibly the signal switch? Easily found replacement part if needed. I don't use it. I hate smoke but can't smell or see any remnants of a former smoker. Above and below, ALL the dummy lights liiuminate as they should upon startup with NONE on during run. As you will see below, the car has been properly maintained either thru Volvo or an exterior shop. No lights on currently means up to date servicing as well. Above you can see those couple cuts in the vinyl I spoke of earlier in the door panel. Below the trunk is complete with spare setup intact, cargo netting and factory Volvo floormat. Below that is also the factory cellphone brain, which can be removed at any time. Sorry, no factory floormats, altho I'm pretty sure I have a set or at least a usable set to go with the car. The factory manuals and radio code are included along with only one key and no keyfobs. Believe it or not, the engine compartment is the most beautiful area on the car! REEKS of proper servicing. Volvo Timing Belt tag at 90k! I removed worn Volvo spark plugs and installed NEW NGK V-Powers. Air filter is clean. There was minimal oil buildup under the motor, but it only looked like an improperly tightened drain plug at one point, as it's not leaving anything on my shop floor overnight. Absolutely no major oil or coolant leaks. No overheating. Transmission fluid is clean. Trans shifts properly every time. Engine fires right up with the strong recent Interstate battery and runs perfectly. Fresh oil and filter change. Brakes are strong with only a teeny tiny pulse during braking. You probably won't notice it as I'm only nitpicking. Right front outer CV boot is torn but barely made a mess, in fact I didn't even see it until I stuck my fingers in it! Shaft is cheaper than a boot repair. About $60 for a shaft from Autozone. No clicking or noises, but needs to be addressed soon. Car drives straight and smooth at any speeds with no vibrations or unusual pulling or wandering. Turbo is nice and strong and pulls nicely to paste a permanent smile on your face. ZERO suspension noises or popping or slop. Absolutely ZERO worries. Please inspect my excellent feedback. Bid, Buy, and Drive ANYWHERE with 100% confidence!
