Thank you for your interest in this 1964 drop top classic Corvair. This example of the iconic Corvair has been privy to a recent superb "driver quality" complete restoration. Everything on this car works as it should with no known problems. The engine and drivetrain have no known problems and have been trouble free for the current owner. The engine is correct with the correct dual Rochester carbs. The only modification in the bay is an the alternator. The transmission shifts smooth and the clutch is excellent with recent free play adjustment. The brakes are excellent including the emergency brake. The suspension and steering are tight, shimmy free, wobble free, and tracks straight on the road. The car seems to have been rust free when restored as no evidence of repair can be found. I have been over the car with a magnet and aside from a ding in the lower front valence that was repaired by the current owner no other evidence of body work was found. The body and paint are beautiful with no orange peel, runs, major scratches or chips. All the body panels have excellent gaps and are straight as an arrow. The chrome and trim are excellent. The top and and interior are in excellent condition with no rips or tears. The carpet is clean, dry, and is not faded. Door panels are straight and flat. All the rubber is in good shape. The black top has a clean clear rear window and has no rips or leaks. This car is an absolute pleasure to drive. The 64 has the transversed rear leaf spring eliminating the handling issues of the earlier cars while still sporting the early and much more desirable body style. This thing does everything with ease.....easy shifting....easy steering....easy drop top.....easy parts availability......and at under $10k relatively easy on the budget. This car can be purchased and enjoyed immediately. I encourage you to come and inspect the car in person.
