Vehicle Detail
It is time for this awesome looking, low mileage rare GTO to find a new home. 1971 was the year they made very few of these cars due to GM strikes and I know of only 1 other 1971 GTO that is this color. Love this car, but it is sitting in my garage and not being used anywhere near as much as it deserves as I way am too busy with kids/work/other things. I bought this car about 90% done in 2007 by a previous owner and I finished the restoration in 2008 with the last few things that needed to be done (put in a stock Crane camshaft, redid the carb, a few other minor items). This thing drives like an absolute dream - I've won a few local car shows with the car when I was doing the circuits. Location: Ft Lauderdale, FL Price: $20,000 (or make an offer) Three pages of images available at: http://www.deepseaimages.com/customers/gto/index.htm#1 List of cool stuff: Matching Numbers (independently verified) 1971 Pontiac GTO 400 (original transmission) PHS docs plus remnants of the original build sheet and manual + Letter from Pontiac to original owner Quezel Gold (original color and awesome paint job) w/ Sandelwood Interior Mileage: 54,400 Automatic No Rust anywhere, all original sheet metal (exception front fenders which are GM NOS) Glass excellent Trim and details excellent Trunk is excellent with spare tire and jack assembly Dual exhaust is new. So is headliner Replaced the fuel tank in 2010 when original leaked Overall this is just a great example of a 1971 GTO Stuff that you need to know: The previous owner put 'RAM Air' decals on the hood. No idea why since there is not any RAM components on this car. I replaced the pictured wheels with BF Goodrich Radial T/A's (Fire Ovals look cool but suck to drive) AM Radio works but blows fuses. Haven't bothered to track down this issue I didn't take the images - I am not MWCLASSIC despite the watermarks. Actually if anything the car actually looks better especially in the sun. The black top is new - we believe it was very likely brown originally. The black looks better to me anyway. You can PM here or email me at marriard@deepseaimages.com. Inspections welcomed and encouraged.
