You are bidding on a rust free diesel 1981 Volkswagen Rabbit pickup. I bought this as a project but never got around to it. This truck is in good shape for its age but its not a show truck. You can see most of the inperfections in the pictures. There are light scratches in the paint, the front driver side fender has a small dent in it. The rear driver side corner has a large dent and scuff in it. The rear bumper needs to be straightened out. There are also various minor dings in other parts of the body. The engine runs smoothly and smoke free. The timing belt has been replaced. All the filters and fluids have also been changed. The injection pump appears to have been replaced but I dont have any records to comfirm it. It could also use new rubber fuel lines. The engine has to crank over a few times and smokes due to losing prime if you let it sit more than 30 minutes. The timing belt cover is not installed but it does come with the truck. It was not installed when I bought the truck and I haven't had time to put it on. The clutch feels good and doesnt slip. The 4 speed transmission is quiet and goes through all the gears properly. The brakes need to be checked through. They will stop the truck but it requires a bit of effort on the brake pedal. Parking brake does work good. The interior is all there. The seats aren't torn but could use some more cleaning. The headliner is in good shape but needs to be glued back on. The gauges, interior lights, factory radio, windows, locks, blower, wipers, horn all work. The a/c compressor comes on but it does not blow cold air. All the lights and signals work except for the left rear. It's probably something simple but I haven't had the time to look into it. The tires look good and all the glass is in great shape. All this truck needs to pass inspection is the light and brakes fixed. It is current on the tags but not the inspection sticker. Please feel free to ask questions. I can try to help arrange shipping.
