Vehicle Detail
1970 GTO, 455 H/O Numbers matching (engine / trans / body) 455 H/O w/ M-21 4 speed transmission. Original build sheet w/ PHS documentation package as well. Car was picked for a quality control inspection at the factory, the punch card documents were filled out, punched, placed in a plastic folder & then mistakenly left on the passenger floor board where they were covered w/ the sound deadening material & carpet for the last 42 years. The documents are in very nice condition, have the build number that coincides w/ the car numbers, engine block build number, etc. If the QC documents just aren’t enough then the old standby PHS package is there as well. Approximately 1761 produced with 455 H/O & 4 speed. This is a numbers matching, documented, 70,000 mile California car. Car sold new in Visalia, CA, spent it’s life in Ca until early 2011. Clear title in my name. Options: 455 H/O, 4 speed, Ram Air, A/C, AM/FM, dash tach, 12 bolt, sport wheel. Body: No accident original body, nose, fenders, doors, rockers & floor pans are nice rust free metal. Rear quarters & outer wheel housings need replaced. Speed Racer got to her at some point in time & hacked out the wheel lips, they are gone. This in turn allowed road debris to build up in the rear quarter areas & cause rust in the lower & rear corners of the panels, regardless the lips are cut out so these items need replaced. Right rear qtr has a lower skin installed but obviously it wasn’t done correctly & there is still the wheel lip issue to contend with. Deck lid has rust along the bottom lip as well & it’s just easier to replace the panel. Trunk pan does have rust in the drivers outer side, can be patched. Hood has minor surface rust on the underside bracing, R/A pan is nice, no rust through. Nice grills, front & rear valances, rear bumper. Front bumper is decent, urethane is pliable & will restore nicely. Original color is a Sierra Yellow, white vinyl top, saddle interior. Frame / suspension: Frame is clean w/ no damage. Needs complete front end rebuild & brake work. Original correctly coded 12 bolt rear end. Original correctly coded Rally II wheels. Interior: Light Saddle in color. Dash pad is cracked, seat covers need replaced due to age, carpet shot, door panels could be cleaned up but should be replaced. Entire interior needs replaced for the most part. Console nice but needs material replacement. Gauge cluster is nice, tach is present. Ram Air controls are complete, missing original radio. A/C ducting, etc is complete. Engine: VIN numbered matching block w/ correct coded/dated heads, intake & exhaust manifolds. block is .030 w/ used forged pistons, crank & rods look good, can’t tell you any more than that, it’s still assembled. Heads are original & untouched. It will need stripped down, inspected & overhauled accordingly. Missing rockers, pushrods, carburetor, distributor, oil pan is dented up, has good timing cover. Basically the long block is complete, all the usual wear items are missing & would need replaced anyways. Breather base is nice, needs restored, missing top lid. Transmission: VIN numbered matching M-21 4 speed, no broken or repaired mounting points, turns freely & shifts through the gears easily. Correct bell housing, shifter & linkage w/ the reverse lockout assy. Photo’s / Codes: Follow the link provided to view photo’s of the car, parts & relevant codes you’ll be asking about. Copy/paste in your browser window. http://s1102.photobucket.com/albums/g456/aliasidentity/GTO/ Missing: Radiator, carburetor, distributor, air cleaner lid, ram air items off breather or hood pan?, A/C engine brackets, compressor & misc under hood A/C items, valves, cam & rocker gear components, decent v-cover, oil pan, windage tray. If you don’t see what you’re looking for in the photo’s then I don’t have it. Yes, a few of these items are expensive to replace but dry your tears & read the next paragraph. What’s not missing: VIN matching engine block, VIN matching M-21 4 speed, correct coded 12 bolt axle, correct coded wheels, 2 original build sheets, factory quality control documents, PHS complete documentation package. It doesn’t take much of a Pontiac fan to realize most of these items are long gone in today’s projects or restored muscle cars of the past. You also get original documentation & a Q/C package that most likely should have never left the plant back in 69. If you want to seperate you're GTO from the pack then this 455 H/O car with QC documents is the way to do it. Questions & answers: Is there a BIN price & will you end the auction early? Yes to both questions, terms as follows. I will not discuss either question on the phone or through emails. You’ll need to show up in person w/ cash to make a deal, complete the transaction & end the auction. What is the reserve? I won’t say. Set yourself a price you’re willing to pay & bid accordingly. Is the car for sale locally? Yes, on eBay. I’d like full size detailed copies of the QC documents? LOL my friends. If you’re the winning bidder you’ll receive the real deal. I live close & would like to view the car? Fantastic, 208-452-7222. I live close (50 miles or less) & would like more photo’s? Your kidding right? You’re not interested & I don’t have the time for B/S. Trades? Yes, 70-71 Trans Am. 32 Plymouth PB coupe. 87 Buick GN. Up/down/across the board. Sell outside the contiguous 48 states? Absolutely not. To many hassles, mails, headaches & non paying bidders. If your truly an upstanding citizen of the world then you surely know a resident of the US who will step up to the plate & complete the transaction for you right here in the US, assuming they are willing to risk their reputation & want to handle the shipping chores to their home. Feedback issues: Your bid will be cancelled if you have less than 25 feedbacks, all of which must be positive, no exceptions. Your bid will be cancelled if you have over 35 feedbacks of which 5% are negative, no exceptions. Your bid will be cancelled if you’re not within the 48 contiguous United States, no exceptions. Payment? I would like a $150 non refundable deposit in PayPal account within 24 hours. No PayPal for full payment will be accepted, transferred bank funds or cash only. Full payment of remaining balance within 7 days of end of auction or you can pay in full upon pick up of vehicle if you’re coming in person. I will not release the vehicle or title until funds have been verified or cash payment in full has been made to my satisfaction. Shipping arrangements: If you’re interested enough in purchasing this GTO then your surely savvy enough to arrange your own shipping itinerary. I’ll help w/ the following: ZIP f/ pick up, 83619. They’ll be someone here when transport arrives & possibly help with loading. I will not assemble the vehicle, install the motor / trans, etc for shipping so be sure you explain to the shipper the true condition of the vehicle & parts. The vehicle obviously doesn’t run / drive & there are no brakes. It does steer. Pick up / storage: Vehicle must be picked up in Fruitland Idaho. No delivery available. You have 30 days from end of the auction to pick up the vehicle. If you need additional time you need to call & discuss arrangements. Guarantee’s / warranties: No guarantee’s or warranties expressed or implied on this vehicle. Vehicle sold “as is, where is”. Vehicle requires a complete restoration. I’ve provided many quality photo’s viewable on the link provided, you can see what you get & decipher the numbers & codes. I’m not a Pontiac expert by any measure so if I’ve made a mistake in the description or a number on a component isn’t correct for this GTO then so be it. Point this out & I’ll list your comments.
