Vehicle Detail
V8 4.2L, 32Valves, 1997 Mercedes-Benz E420 was purchased from our neighbor at the end of a lease in February 2001 with 56k miles so it’s history is well documented and we can certify the current mileage. Very well maintained, all records, garaged, no accidents, no smokers, about 90% are highway miles. Our daughter went to college overseas so we don’t need so many cars. OEM options: fully loaded with Xenon HID lights with washers, integrated phone, 6-disc changer with Bose sound, sunroof, and heated multi-contour therapeutic seats. I have an original window sticker with MSRP $49.9k+Options $4.8k = Total $55,300. Condition: Powertrain: Engine- very strong, always starts. Replaced valves’ oil jets and vacuum lines which were typical issues. Maintenance: oil changed every 4k, replaced oxygen sensors at 120k, radiator at 140k. Transmission- perfectly smooth shifting. Recently replaced speed sensors and transmission fluid & filter. Exterior: dark, navy blue with very few scratches and a small dent in the left front fender. Hard to see on photo, but is located in center of the close-up picture of the fender with a left front tire. Some spots with surface corrosion under the paint. Typically on low edges of lower panels of doors and fenders so not easily visible. Four years ago similar spots were fixed by the body shop, but now are showing up in various other areas. No cracks or chips in the glass. Interior: dark brown leather with walnut wood. Excellent condition with no cracks in the leather. Rear passenger window just stopped working, but motor still operational. Possible broken linkage, which is a common problem. See easy pictorial $49 DIY repair instruction at the benzworld forum link: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w210-e-class/1226700-diy-pictorial-window-regulator-replacement.html Tires and brakes: tires have about 20-30k life left;, brakes recently replaced. A second set of alloy wheels with snow tires good for another winter season are available for an additional $150. Other offers have been submitted for the winter tires, so if interested, please get in touch immediately post-purchase. Overall, the car is in really good condition; no error codes and it passed Illinois emission inspection. You are welcome to see it in Chicago northern suburbs or arrange for your mechanic to do a full inspection. Kelly Blue Book value is $6k plus. Very low, symbolic reserve. Please no bidders without a feedback and no international buyers.
