I drive every one of my sale vehicles and write a thorough description including the good and bad of the vehicle. I want you to know exactly what you are buying so you can bid with confidence. Up for auction with NO RESERVE is a very nice 1989 Toyota Celica Convertible. This car was purchased by a friend from me at the beginning of the year, and he traded it for something a bit different and so it is back up for auction. A little bit on the history of this car: It has been a local car since new. It got reconstructed and recertified roadworthy in 1995, when it had approximately 50,000 miles on it. (I do not know what the damage may have been or if it was just a theft recovery. It was a very professionally done repair.) It was owned by an immediate family member of the owner of a body shop here in York that specializes in Asian vehicles. That owner put 100,000 miles on the car and it passed annual safety inspections every year. I bought it and subsequently resold it to a friend of mine who is a bit of a car collector. He enjoyed it for a while and is now trading it for something different. This convertible is in excellent condition for the age and mileage. As you can see in the pictures, the red paint shows very well. It has been given an all over professional repaint at some time in the recent past. As you can see in the pictures, it is a bright red and has only a few of the normal blemishes that come from use. The alloy wheels are in good condition and would shine up nicely with a good buffing. They are wrapped in a set of quality Michelin tires with deep tread. The convertible top is in good condition. It has been patched and reinforced properly as it wears. It should still have several seasons of good use. I soaked the car pretty heavily with the hose when I washed it and the only water I found inside was a tiny drip on the driver's side about where my elbow would rest on the door. The power convertible mechanism goes up and down smoothly. The pop-up headlights work flawlessly. The interior of this car was likewise well kept. The grey cloth bucket seats are very comfortable and look good. The fabric is a soft velour, there are no holes or tears. The door panels and dash show well and are tight. The carpets are in excellent shape and there is a set of floormats. The original stereo has been replaced with a later Toyota stereo with CD player and aftermarket Sony speakers. It sounds very good and is wired for a subwoofer. The power windows, including sail windows, all go up and down smoothly. The power mirrors and locks work as they should. Mechanically this car is in good condition, as one would expect a Toyota to be. The Celica used the 2.0L engine that helped cement Toyota's reputation for long lasting cars. It fires up easily and drives flawlessly. The automatic transmission shifts well. The suspension is in good order and it drives and corners like a sporty car should. The power steering pump and rack were recently replaced by Hanover Toyota at a cost of nearly $1000 and they work flawlessly. The car drives straight as an arrow at highway speeds with just one finger on the wheel. It has a fresh oil change. This is a sharp looking car. Toyota built these cars to drive well and last, and this car is no exception. It is fun to drive and is equally at home making grocery runs or road trips. Top up or top down, this is a car that is just nice to drive. I really like this car, and have considered keeping it for myself. This car has a current PA safety and emissions inspection good through the end of May 2013. Also for sale, separately, is a near-new tonneau cover that covers the rear when the convertible is down to preserve the top (see last 4 pics). It is fit to this car and snaps tightly in place. It was bought new this year for $600 and has been used only a handful of times. It is being offered to the buyer of the car first for $200. If not sold with the car, it will be sold elsewhere. When I compare something as "average" I am comparing it against the average of similar year and mileage used vehicles on the road, not the average on a dealer's retail sales lot. Up for auction with NO RESERVE is a very nice 1989 Toyota Celica Convertible. This car was purchased by a friend from me at the beginning of the year, and he traded it for something a bit different and so it is back up for auction. A little bit on the history of this car: It has been a local car since new. It got reconstructed and recertified roadworthy in 1995, when it had approximately 50,000 miles on it. (I do not know what the damage may have been or if it was just a theft recovery. It was a very professionally done repair.) It was owned by an immediate family member of the owner of a body shop here in York that specializes in Asian vehicles. That owner put 100,000 miles on the car and it passed annual safety inspections every year. I bought it and subsequently resold it to a friend of mine who is a bit of a car collector. He enjoyed it for a while and is now trading it for something different.
This convertible is in excellent condition for the age and mileage. As you can see in the pictures, the red paint shows very well. It has been given an all over professional repaint at some time in the recent past. As you can see in the pictures, it is a bright red and has only a few of the normal blemishes that come from use. The alloy wheels are in good condition and would shine up nicely with a good buffing. They are wrapped in a set of quality Michelin tires with deep tread. The convertible top is in good condition. It has been patched and reinforced properly as it wears. It should still have several seasons of good use. I soaked the car pretty heavily with the hose when I washed it and the only water I found inside was a tiny drip on the driver's side about where my elbow would rest on the door. The power convertible mechanism goes up and down smoothly. The pop-up headlights work flawlessly.
The interior of this car was likewise well kept. The grey cloth bucket seats are very comfortable and look good. The fabric is a soft velour, there are no holes or tears. The door panels and dash show well and are tight. The carpets are in excellent shape and there is a set of floormats. The original stereo has been replaced with a later Toyota stereo with CD player and aftermarket Sony speakers. It sounds very good and is wired for a subwoofer. The power windows, including sail windows, all go up and down smoothly. The power mirrors and locks work as they should.
Mechanically this car is in good condition, as one would expect a Toyota to be. The Celica used the 2.0L engine that helped cement Toyota's reputation for long lasting cars. It fires up easily and drives flawlessly. The automatic transmission shifts well. The suspension is in good order and it drives and corners like a sporty car should. The power steering pump and rack were recently replaced by Hanover Toyota at a cost of nearly $1000 and they work flawlessly. The car drives straight as an arrow at highway speeds with just one finger on the wheel. It has a fresh oil change.
This is a sharp looking car. Toyota built these cars to drive well and last, and this car is no exception. It is fun to drive and is equally at home making grocery runs or road trips. Top up or top down, this is a car that is just nice to drive. I really like this car, and have considered keeping it for myself.
This car has a current PA safety and emissions inspection good through the end of May 2013.
Also for sale, separately, is a near-new tonneau cover that covers the rear when the convertible is down to preserve the top (see last 4 pics). It is fit to this car and snaps tightly in place. It was bought new this year for $600 and has been used only a handful of times. It is being offered to the buyer of the car first for $200. If not sold with the car, it will be sold elsewhere.

Vehicle Pick-up:
Arrangements must be made in advance to pick up a vehicle. We do not have regular hours, we operate by-appointment. We are very flexible and accomidating with days and times to pick-up, but must have advance notice or there is a very real possibility you may show up and no one is here.
Accepted Payment Methods:
Vehicle will be immediately available for pick up if paid by cash in person. Payments made by wire transfer, check (cashiers or personal), or money order will be subject to verification of funds by my bank. The vehicle and title will be held until all funds have been cleared by my bank and made available for withdraw.
Paypal is accepted for the initial deposit only...not the balance. This includes Bill Me Later.
All vehicles shall be removed within 14 days of auction's end. Any vehicle left longer than 14 days without arrangements being made prior to the end of the auction will be subject to a storage fee of $5/day.
Bid Retractions/Changes:
I take selling vehicles on eBay very seriously. In the event of any bid retraction or bid change, it shall be the right of the seller to honor or not honor the outcome of the auction. This descision will be made at the sole discretion of the seller and can be made at any time while the auction is live or after the auction closes regardless of any circumstance.
