Vehicle Detail
1964 Ford Galaxie 500 Sedan for sale. There are 88,xxx original miles on this car. It was gone through completely in the last couple of years and is excellent condition. Below is the external link for the pictures: http://s419.photobucket.com/albums/pp279/powforbreakfast/1964%20Galaxie%20500/ VIDEO Here is a detailed walk-around of the car and engine: https://vimeo.com/41257995 There is not a spec of rust on the surface entire car, and all of the Chrome is original. There is surface rust (only at seams, very light) on the underside of the decklid. The car has spent its entire life in the tri-cities until I purchased it and drove it up here to Spokane. This car was given a ‘resto-mod’ treatment and IS NOT original. It’s a daily driver car, but would show very well with minimal work in a ‘modified’ category. Highlights include: A rebuilt 460 CI big block ford with match C6 automatic transmission. There are just over 1000 miles on the rebuild. New Eldebrock performer manifold/carb 2.5 inch full dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers 9 inch ford rear end with 3.07 gears New Drive Shaft All new brakes and master cylinder New Radiator/electric cooling fans/thermostatic controls New aftermarket under dash AC/condenser/dryer/compressor New Heavy Duty big block front Springs Converted from manual to power steering/rebuilt power steering unit Electronic ignition system Complete rewire for engine compartment Four new heavy duty shocks Custom rear sway bar Fresh two tone paint job in Madrid turquoise/white New matching Madrid turquoise interior/new carpet with dyna mat sound deadening installed New Sony stereo with IPOD/USB connections/custom fit front left/right front speaker and new dual rear speakers New wide whitewall tires Trunk full of original and replacement parts for miscellaneous parts of the car. All headlights, lamps, turn signals, etc. work as they should. There are too many other new parts to list in detail. I would absolutely trust this car to drive from where it’s parked here in Spokane to drive all the way to New York. Please read! THE BAD: Needs the headliner to be installed, as shown in the pictures. I have all of the bracing and attachment components AS WELL AS A BRAND NEW BLACK VYNLE HEADLINER that will come included, so all that needs to be done is the material to be installed. The right front wheel, as shown in the pictures, does not have a hubcap cover installed on it currently. The hubcaps seem to do much better clipping onto the paint on the inside of the wheel, but that particular wheel has little paint on it and the hubcap has trouble staying on. I have 4-5 additional identical hubcaps in the truck along with an extra wheel, so re-mounting the tire on the extra wheel could potentially solve this problem. The horn does not work. The steering wheel has some small cracks in the plastic. The weather stripping around the doors is in good condition but starting to crack. The few problems listed above are the only things wrong with the car and I am highlighting them in all honesty – these problems are so insignificant for a driver car that most sellers wouldn’t even tell you about them and let you find them for yourself and they are very easy to overlook the first time you see the car inside and out. There is absolutely nothing to hide here and I’m happy to take you on a ride. Please feel free to contact me via email with any questions or concerns you might have, even before coming to look at the car. If you email and are interested in speaking to me over the phone, I am happy to do so. I have a full and clear WA title in my name. My asking price is $4,800. Consider the cost of an engine rebuild for a 460 and evaluate the price. Then consider the cost of a 9/10 paint job, as this one has, and you’re getting a steal! At the very least, purchasing the car for the engine and tranny alone is a great deal. All pictures and the video were taken on April 29th, 2012 and absolutely reflect the current condition of the car. Have fun looking great!
