Vehicle Detail

I have a rare 1970 Torino GT 429 SCJ 4-speed hurst up for auction. The GT runs great!!! My wife and I went on an weekend trip with our car club to Burlington, VT which is about 3 hours away and the GT ran great. I've owned the GT for about 9 years. I'm the 4th owner. I just got it on the road last summer. I spent about $3,625.00 last summer between parts & labor to get GT on the road. I'll list what I had done: *new exhaust system & tips *replaced flywheel, pressure plate, & throw out bearing *new Holley 750 carb. (the original Holley goes w./ the GT) I just didn't want to take the time & $ to rebuild the original right now. *rear brake shoes, drums, & wheel cylinders *front rotors, brake lines, front wheel seals *fuel pump The heater core does leak as we found last summer. We just bypassed it for now. I did purchase a new heater core and that goes w./ GT. Haven't had time to install it. Info about the engine: After about 3/4 years of trying to locate the original owner, I finally did about 4 years ago. This SCJ motor that's in the GT isn't the original. The original owner told me that after he had about 2,000 miles on the Torino, the original motor started to have a ticking noise. He took it back to Hickey Ford and they put in a replacement motor as it was still under warranty. I checked out the codes on the block, heads, exhaust manifolds, and intake maniford and it's all SCJ!!! Info about the power windows: I can't get them to work correctly. The bezel is in excellent shape. I bought this about 6 years ago. The problem is the part that's inside the driver's door that holds the wires that attachs to the back of the bezel is broke. The passenger side and power window switches are ok. It's the driver's side that has the problem. For now, I took the 2 bolts out so the driver's window stays down. When you touch certain wires, the passenger window will go up & down. The lights and hide-aways do work. I do have antenna that goes with the car, I just haven't time to hook it up. The hood is in primer. Quite a few years ago, someone tried blacking out some of the hood. Some surface rust had developed. I'll add a photo of what it use to look like when I bought it. The past few weeks, I've been working on sanding it down and just painting w./ maroon primer. The new owner can finish it. It does look better than before. This is an awesome muscle car that will continue to go up in value. I hate to sell this car, because I know I'll never own a rare Ford like this again. But interests change and it's time for something different. As you'll see in photos, I have Marti report, warranty card, & build sheet for the GT. ***Please contact me if you have less than 20 feedbacks or if you have negative feedbacks for non-payments. I will cancel bids if I need to.*** Payment: Deposit of $500.00 within 48 hours of auction close. The remaining funds must be paid within 7 days, and arranged with me after the sale.If not received as specified, a case will be opened with Ebay. Your bid is a binding contract. The buyer must contact me by telephone within 48 hours of the end of the auction to arrange final payment. I will not aceept any personel checks from anyone. I will accept a certified bank check, but will not release the car until the bank checks clears, and the money is in my account. This usually takes about a week. Shipping: You, the buyer, are fully responsible for the cost of the shipping and making all arrangements. Also I am not responsible for any damage that may occur during shipping. This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty. I'll try an add photos of the underneath of the GT on Tuesday night. Any questions, please ask. Thank You On Aug-14-12 at 19:29:38 PDT, seller added the following information: I've added photos of the underbody of the Torino. I do have more photos. If your serious about Torino, send me your e-mail address. Info about NYS titles/reg. NYS didn't start using titles until 1973. To show and transfer ownership before 1973, you used a registration. I have the registration and it's clean. It has my name address and vin #, so no problems there. All the gauges work. Tires have about 1,000 to 1,300 miles on them. I did have them on Torino Cobra I use to own and drove that for about 4 seasons. The door to the glove box between the bucket seats did break it hinges when we went to Burlington, VT a couple weeks ago. On Aug-16-12 at 20:15:12 PDT, seller added the following information: Many of you asked about trunk, oil cooler and hide away lights. I added 2 more photos of those areas. I've has questions about lifters. Originally SCJ came mechanical lifters. When I talked to the original owner about 4 years, one of the things he mentioned he did change it from mechanical to hydraulic lifters because the mechanical lifters made too much noise. When you do that, I think you have to change the cam. Another question I've been asked is how far does the driver's side window go up. It goes up about 3/4 of the way up when you put those 2 bolts back in. One other question I've been asked is how is the trunk and hood lips. Hood lip is solid. The trunk lip does have some rust. On Aug-19-12 at 02:32:41 PDT, seller added the following information: Only selling in the United States!!! I had a gentlemen look @ the Torino on Saturday & we both agreed that the trunk lid will probably have to be replaced. I can send pictures if needed. I lowered my reserve & added a "Buy It Now". This will be last time I'm going to list the Torino on Ebay.
