I have up for a auction a 2002 Hyundai Accent GL. I am selling the car with no reserve. I recently gave the car a tune-up and expected it to last to 200,000. However the transmission went out within the last week and I do not have the know-how or funds to pay for the repair. My mechanic told me the overdrive and reverse were damaged so the transmission needs to be replaced. The car starts and will drive but doesn’t seem to shift out of first gear. I am selling this car for my mother. She is the 2nd owner and has owned the car since 2003. The car has 130,400 miles on it. The car's oil has been changed every 3,000 miles and I have maintenance records for all work performed. This car has power doors,locks,windows and a CD player. All of those options work. I replaced the timing belt, water pump, and coolant fluid less than 15,000 miles ago. The ignition coil was replaced around 20,000 miles ago. The tire rod ends were replaced less than 5,000 miles ago and the air temperature sensor less than 2,000 miles ago. The catalytic converter was replaced in the past to pass emissions around 2008 or 2010. The driver's door handle doesn't work from the outside. I usually roll the window down a little bit and open it from within. The interior is in average shape for a 10 year old car. There is moderate front end damage to the passenger side bumper and headlight. (See picture attached) but it doesn't effect the light or signal. If you know how to work on car's this is a good deal as there is no reserve. Car must be paid for and picked up within 3 days of auction ending. The auction ends on a weekend so this shouldn't be a problem. The car is located at my mechanic's shop so if you want to look at it his hours are mon-fri 9-5 or so. Cash or paypal accepted only. The car shifts from 1st to 2nd but shifts hard. I did not go over 30mph. The car will need to get towed unless it is being driven slowly and within 5 miles of glendale heights in my opinion. The car comes with a spare tire&jack.
