We are selling our 1997 Audi A4 Quattro 2.8L race car. The car has 287,000 miles on it, and runs great. We raced it one time at the 24 Hours of LeMons race in 2012 in Michigan and it did great. The clutch is solid, and the engine was fully inspected and tuned by a local mechanic prior to the race. The engine has had no mods done to it, only what you see on the inside of the car, along with once-used racing brakes and new tires with 3 hours on them. We also removed the front bumper and installed a steel bumper. We've also installed a kill switch, tow hooks, professionally-installed roll cage, and Kirkey race seat. All of this was used only for the one race, so it is in like-new condition. The only issue mechanically is a small hole in the exhaust which can be easily fixed if you want it to be quieter. There is also a small crease in the spare tire well, but it does not affect driving or handling at all. The car would be completely race-ready and competitive with some suspension and engine mods, but since this was our first and only race, we decided against investing that much into it. Now, we need the garage space, and need to get rid of it. We have more invested in the cage, brakes, and seat than we are asking for the car as a whole. This would be a great, cheap car for someone interested in getting into racing, or who is interested in continuing to build it up for races. $2500 obo. This car is listed locally and we reserve the right to end the auction early if the car sells locally. Also, if you win the auction and need the car shipped, you are responsible for the cost of shipping, but we will be happy to assist a freight service with loading your car at our garage.
