Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 I have a 1966 Pontiac GTO 4- Speed body shell and frame that I no longer need. It has a clear title and Pontiac Historical Services (PHS) documentation. It would be perfect for either someone who has started a 66 GTO restoration project and found too much rust, or someone who has a Lemans body available for the extra needed parts. If you have a 66 or 67 Lemans for front end and other missing parts and want to build an inexpensive REAL (and legal) GTO, this is for you!!! The PHS documentation verifies an original 4 barrel, 4 speed GTO with manual brakes and steering, NON AC. It appears to have never been repainted. It still shows the original reef turquoise paint with turquoise interior. This is apparently a car that spent some time in a nice dry Eastern Washington junk yard. It was included as a second parts car when I bought a complete 66 GTO a few years back. It is missing parts as shown in the photos. It has been stored under cover in dry, low humidity Kennewick, WA. The body has minor surface rust only- nothing deep, and no perforations. The floor boards are rock solid and still have a lot of the original sound deadening tar-coated material. The trunk floors likewise are solid. The quarter panels, wheel wells, and edges around the windshield and back window are solid. There is some minor body damage, as shown in the photos. This car can save your restoration project! The cost of buying this body is a small percentage of what your body shop is going to charge you to replace rusted floor pans, quarter panels and sail panels. Plus it has nice un-rusted doors. Also has both front buckets and back seat. The front windshield and back glass are gone. All of the door glass is intact. The gauges, dash pad, steering column, and clutch/brake pedals are there. I have a back bumper and a left fender not shown in the photos. The bumper is slightly bent, but I think it can be straightened. The fender is slightly crinkled. I believe the car has been off the road since approximately 1980. The odometer shows 22,000, which is probably 122,000. The car needs to be picked up within two weeks of auction end. It will have to be winched onto a flat bed tow truck or trailer as there is a missing axle on the rear and the front control arms/spindles were removed. 25 years ago they just didn't know. Oh, well. It can be seen in Kennewick, Washington. Send me a message if you want to come take a look, or would like additional photos. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the car is listed locally also. Thanks for looking! On Aug-10-12 at 13:35:24 PDT, seller added the following information: Several things: 1- I ended my local ad, since I am getting bids here. So this auction will NOT be ending early! 2- I am uncovering and cleaning up the trunk and floor panels, to be able to accurately photograph and show the condition. I added photos of the passenger side front and back floors and the trunk floor above. I will clean up the passenger side next. Not that there is some surface rust. I did find one small perforation in the trunk. 3- I am throwing in the rest of the parts form my shop for a 66 GTO. I have been downsizing to just one car- a restored 69 GTO. So, I do not need any 66 parts anymore. I am including in this auction package a restored blower housing and fan, a set of spindles and drums from a 69 GTO (should be a fit) if you want to run drums, a complete new under hood and trunk screw/bolt kit for a 66 GTO, a used headlight switch, a new 8- bolt water pump and repainted bolt kit, a set of hard to find Mickey Thompson (M/T) valve covers, and a really cherry Pontiac vacuum gauge (works). 4- I am selling this car body and parts as is, where is, with no warranty either expressed or implied. On Aug-12-12 at 08:25:06 PDT, seller added the following information: I added photos of the driver's side front and back floors. Again, note that they are nice and solid, with some surface rust. I also added another photo looking down the driver's side body panels. While this car has a few minor dents in the panels (the worst being the right rear corner), the primary body lines are nice and straight, and the "haunches" look good. This body appears to have only the original coat of paint that you will need to strip. It does not look like it ever had a re-paint. I do not have keys for any of the locks or ignition. It is pretty common to just buy the whole matching set anyway. Also a minor correction- The front end has control arms and spindle on the driver's side, none on the passenger side. Also the passenger door latch and trunk latch were removed. Thanks for the interest being shown in the car. I am looking forward to getting it to someone who can get it back on the road someday! And also to have a place under cover to park my old Chevy Blazer!
