Vehicle Detail
1965 Pontiac Tempest Custom Convertible, ( Have PHS Documentation ) cloned to a GTO. 108,136 actual miles. I have history back to 1988. Original 326/250 hp V8, upgraded with an Edlbrock aluminum intake with a 600 CFM Edelbrock carburator, electric choke, a GTO spec. cam, and a Petronics electronic distributor upgrade. Stock bottom end and as best I can tell, never apart. Power steering, power front disc bracks ( kit from Ground Up Restorations ) with new brake lines. New heavy duty front coil springs. Turbo 350 with a shift kit. 2.56 rear end gear makes it a great highway cruiser. Heavy duty aluminum radiator. Runs between 170 and 200 on hot summer days. Interior has GTO buckets, never recovered, and in great shape. New carpet and door panels. Aftermarket gauges. Power top works well with boot included. JVC radio, CD playeer in glove box, plays nice, with duel cone front installed in stock position and 2 rear speakers. Stock radio and rally clock, but neither conected. The convertible top was installed in 2005 and still looks new. It could however be restreatched to take small wringles out of plastic glass and sides. It needs top weatherstripping, which I never got around to installing since I never drive in bad weather. 15/7 Crager S/S with 225/70/R15 front and rear, with approximately 300 miles since new. Body is good. Had some rust repair when painted in 2005. Some spots need attention to make show quality. A few chips and scratches and several bubbles. Check the pictures of the lower driver door and just below the rear plastic glass on drivers side. One small stone chip on drivers side of windshield. Could be repaired. One small patch in the drivers side floor pan ( approv. 5"X5" ) repaired in 2005. Remainder of floor and trunk pan is solid. Frame is solid. Trim is in good condition but would need polishing to be considered show quality. Chrome on rear bumper is pealing in a few spots. Front bumper is excellent. Rear tail panel is piitted and would need replated for show quality. I have the original front bench seat, tempest grill, all four wheels and tires and the Tempest Custom side trim included with the sale. I have tried to include all photos needed so an accurate picture will be given of this car. I have not taken this car to any shows but can honestly say that this car is nicer than many I have seen at both local and national Pontiac shows.
