Vehicle Detail

Listing this vehicle for a friend unfamiliar with cars and internet. This was her husband's vehicle and must be sold to settle the estate. Very honest, nice driving 1962 Austin Mini Countryman .99k miles. Original Tartan red exterior. Original red/silver interior.Professionally converted to 1098cc engine. Runs and drives very well, no smoke. Idles and Shifts well. Lots of charm. Previous owners had driven this car to many of the Mini meets over the past decades (Denver, Montreal, Dayton, Knoxville) and were active in the club. This was clearly a car that was enthusiast owned and tastefully upgraded. 1098 engine has under 10k miles, has rebuilt 4 speed synchronized Silver Seal transmission with 3.44 final drive. Oil cooler. Dual front brake cylinders. Paddy Hopkirk rally gas pedal. Rear seat folds forward to provide cargo area. The Good: Nice running and driving car, first-crank, no hands startup (see videos)Recent receipts for $1200 (battery, regulator, fuel pump, carb cleaning, tune, fluids) Newer Yokohamas tires on excellent 10" Minilight wheels. Two owners the last 38 years, both Mini club members. A very decent, honest car at a reasonable reserve that you can drive and enjoy. Nice patina. No evidence of past bodywork- rust issues are where you see it. Also includes extra parts cache: another 1098cc motor, 3 synchro 4spd. tranmission, subframe, manuals, odds and ends, many extra parts as pictured. The Bad: Some relatively slight rust holes in lower outer rockers both sides and small bubbling (size of pencil eraser) rear of wheel wells as shown, see photos. Some nicks, chips, dings in older driver-quality paint. Torn lower drivers seat upholstery. Drivers side mirror needs a lens. Crack in windshield. Please keep in mind this vehicle is celebrating it's 50th birthday! videos: http://youtu.be/pB2_D6-qc5Uhttp://youtu.be/2gcwU9514zc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbRSFpxXAB0&feature=plcp More photos: http://s291.photobucket.com/albums/ll283/67alloy/1962%20Austin%20Countryman%20Estate%20Wagon/?albumview=slideshow 100% We have taken lots of photos and videos to give you an honest idea of this car. I believe that it can be driven anywhere since it was recently checked out at the local import specialist and given "whatever it needed" but we still recommend shipping the car to avoid road surprises.
