Up for auction with NO RESERVE is a 135,000 mile 1995 Eagle Talon TSI AWD. This may not be the prettiest car in the world, but it is fun to drive. With a little TLC and some tuning would make an excellent racer. Or with some paint and a body kit would make a great show car. Or just leave it like it is and drive the crap out of it! The cosmetics of this car are, to be fair, disappointing. The clear coat is peeling and the bumpers are not what they used to be. All the important parts are there though (with the exception of the driver's outside door handle. That is missing. It's custom.). All the glass is in good shape. The factory Talon alloy wheels look nice and have good rubber on them. The interior is in much better shape than the exterior. The gray leather seats are comfortable. The driver's seat bolster is a bit worn, but there are no holes in the back or seat. The carpets and headliner are in good shape. There are the usual squeaks and rattles that these cars get with age. The power windows, locks, and mirrors work as the should. The power sunroof works properly. The fans work, but the A/C does not blow cold air. The stereo faceplate did not come with the car, so it does not work. The speakers appear to be aftermarket and it looks like it was wired for subs and an amp (none are in the car). The mechanicals are the important part in a car like this, right? Well none of that cosmetic stuff matters because they are working well. The car drives like I would expect a stock 2.0 turbo with 135k to drive. The turbo spools up quickly around 3k RPM and holds good boost through to redline. The clutch is easy and grabs well. The transmission clicks in and out of gear smooth and simple. The AWD holds traction well. The exhaust is noisy. There are no check engine lights. There is an ABS light, but who needs ABS anyway? The suspension does not shake or pull and corners well. The brakes stop quick and straight. There is good reason these cars have been popular in the tuner crowd for years. Bolt on power adders are inexpensive and easy to find and will wake this car right up. It is hard to find a Talon or Eclipse that is not ragged out with a half million miles anymore.
