Each vehicle we sell is road tested before it is offered for sale. Every vehicle we sell is represented accurately and honestly to the best of our knowledge and ability. Please keep in mind as you read this that we are neither a mechanic nor do we operate a full service dealership. Please take the time to read this entire description carefully, read our terms & conditions and review each of the photos in detail as they are a part of the vehicles description. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1998 Mercedes-Benz S500. This vehicle is slightly different than what we typically sell. We have owned this S500 for a little over a year and it has been my personal car. I don't drive it every day, but I do keep it around for long trips. It is my opinion that the W140 is the best engineered and best built Mercedes-Benz's available. This car is the last of a breed when a Mercedes was built to a standard, not a price. Anyone who has driven older AND newer Mercedes products will know exactly what I mean. I would rate the exterior of this Mercedes-Benz to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you can see, this is a great looking Mercedes. The classic black finish has a mile deep shine all around. There is no visible damage to report. The power antenna is broken and there is a very small amount of fade in the finish at the top of the passenger front fender. The windows are professionally tinted which looks great. All of the glass and lenses appear to be intact. The rare factory chrome wheels look good with only minor blemishes in the finish. The tires have good tread. It has factory HID lights which are amazing at night. This car gets plenty of looks. The left outside mirror is loose. The motors all work. Someone tried to fold the mirror in like a normal car and it hasn't been right since. The doors and trunk all close properly. This is an absolutely gorgeous vehicle anyone would be proud to own and drive. I would rate the interior of this Mercedes to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you open the drivers door, the graciously appointed tan interior draws a sharp contrast to the black exterior and tinted windows. The door cards are all clean and tight. The carpets are thick and full throughout the interior. There is a tiny puncture on the drivers seat cushion which was there when I purchased this car. The headliner is clean and tight. The wood trim is in good condition throughout the interior. The plastic cover to the first aid kit and third brake light are missing. One of the rear vanity mirrors is missing. My kids broke it. Both front seats are power operated and all four seats are heated. The power windows, mirrors, seats, sunroof and central locks all work properly. The climate control system is fully automatic and offers independent settings for the driver and passenger as well as vents for the rear passengers. The climate control system works well and the air conditioner blows ice cold air. The stereo sounds great and works properly. There is a CD changer in the trunk. The long wheel base W140 offers the best of everything. It has room, power, style and reliability. Mechanically, this Mercedes S500 has been very reliable for me. The 5.0L V8 engine starts easily and runs smoothly. The engine does not smoke and I have never seen it leak anything. The engine makes great power. Driving this Mercedes is an absolute pleasure. It is at home on the highway and cruises easily. The rear shocks make a very little bit of noise (which is normal as these age). The suspension, otherwise, is nice and tight. The steering is light and neutral as it should be. I had the front brakes done last year. The car stops with no issues but the rear pads occasionally let out a little squeak. She cruises nice and strait down the highway with no complaints. The five speed automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. The engine keeps normal temperature and oil pressure. The miles are nice and low. These cars are getting hard to find with good miles. If you have never owned a Mercedes-Benz before (and I mean a real Mercedes, not a C220) please do your research before you buy. These cars require periodic preventative maintainence by technicians with specific knowledge of this vehicle. Service can be expensive at times on these cars. Please keep in mind that you will still have to maintain a $100,000 vehicle. The real value in owning a Mercedes-Benz is when you keep it for 10-20 years and the money you invest in service actually has time to reward you. There will be no such thing as a perfect Mercedes-Benz. As they age, they all seep fluids and take on a personality of their own. The only Mercedes that needs nothing is a brand new one...and I bet the dealership could still find a way to bill you for something. It is best to have a private mechanic who is very familiar with these cars. And not some guy who works on "foreign stuff"...this isn't a Volvo or a BMW. I'm not trying to scare anyone off. These are amazing vehicles. I can't remember the last time I didn't own one of these. I just want our buyer to know what they're buying in advance. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. Buying your next vehicle through one of our NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of buying a vehicle. Each vehicle we sell is road tested before it is offered for sale. Every vehicle we sell is represented accurately and honestly to the best of our knowledge and ability. Please keep in mind as you read this that we are neither a mechanic nor do we operate a full service dealership. Please take the time to read this entire description carefully, read our terms & conditions and review each of the photos in detail as they are a part of the vehicles description. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1998 Mercedes-Benz S500. This vehicle is slightly different than what we typically sell. We have owned this S500 for a little over a year and it has been my personal car. I don't drive it every day, but I do keep it around for long trips. It is my opinion that the W140 is the best engineered and best built Mercedes-Benz's available. This car is the last of a breed when a Mercedes was built to a standard, not a price. Anyone who has driven older AND newer Mercedes products will know exactly what I mean.
I would rate the exterior of this Mercedes-Benz to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you can see, this is a great looking Mercedes. The classic black finish has a mile deep shine all around. There is no visible damage to report. The power antenna is broken and there is a very small amount of fade in the finish at the top of the passenger front fender. The windows are professionally tinted which looks great. All of the glass and lenses appear to be intact. The rare factory chrome wheels look good with only minor blemishes in the finish. The tires have good tread. It has factory HID lights which are amazing at night. This car gets plenty of looks. The left outside mirror is loose. The motors all work. Someone tried to fold the mirror in like a normal car and it hasn't been right since. The doors and trunk all close properly. This is an absolutely gorgeous vehicle anyone would be proud to own and drive.
I would rate the interior of this Mercedes to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you open the drivers door, the graciously appointed tan interior draws a sharp contrast to the black exterior and tinted windows. The door cards are all clean and tight. The carpets are thick and full throughout the interior. There is a tiny puncture on the drivers seat cushion which was there when I purchased this car. The headliner is clean and tight. The wood trim is in good condition throughout the interior. The plastic cover to the first aid kit and third brake light are missing. One of the rear vanity mirrors is missing. My kids broke it. Both front seats are power operated and all four seats are heated. The power windows, mirrors, seats, sunroof and central locks all work properly. The climate control system is fully automatic and offers independent settings for the driver and passenger as well as vents for the rear passengers. The climate control system works well and the air conditioner blows ice cold air. The stereo sounds great and works properly. There is a CD changer in the trunk. The long wheel base W140 offers the best of everything. It has room, power, style and reliability.
Mechanically, this Mercedes S500 has been very reliable for me. The 5.0L V8 engine starts easily and runs smoothly. The engine does not smoke and I have never seen it leak anything. The engine makes great power. Driving this Mercedes is an absolute pleasure. It is at home on the highway and cruises easily. The rear shocks make a very little bit of noise (which is normal as these age). The suspension, otherwise, is nice and tight. The steering is light and neutral as it should be. I had the front brakes done last year. The car stops with no issues but the rear pads occasionally let out a little squeak. She cruises nice and strait down the highway with no complaints. The five speed automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. The engine keeps normal temperature and oil pressure. The miles are nice and low. These cars are getting hard to find with good miles.
If you have never owned a Mercedes-Benz before (and I mean a real Mercedes, not a C220) please do your research before you buy. These cars require periodic preventative maintainence by technicians with specific knowledge of this vehicle. Service can be expensive at times on these cars. Please keep in mind that you will still have to maintain a $100,000 vehicle. The real value in owning a Mercedes-Benz is when you keep it for 10-20 years and the money you invest in service actually has time to reward you. There will be no such thing as a perfect Mercedes-Benz. As they age, they all seep fluids and take on a personality of their own. The only Mercedes that needs nothing is a brand new one...and I bet the dealership could still find a way to bill you for something. It is best to have a private mechanic who is very familiar with these cars. And not some guy who works on "foreign stuff"...this isn't a Volvo or a BMW. I'm not trying to scare anyone off. These are amazing vehicles. I can't remember the last time I didn't own one of these. I just want our buyer to know what they're buying in advance. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.

Vehicle Pick-up:
Arrangements must be made in advance to pick up a vehicle. We do not have regular hours, we operate by-appointment. We are very flexible and accomidating with days and times to pick-up, but must have advance notice or there is a very real possibility you may show up and no one is here.
Accepted Payment Methods:
Vehicle will be immediately available for pick up if paid by cash in person. Payments made by wire transfer, check (cashiers or personal), or money order will be subject to verification of funds by my bank. The vehicle and title will be held until all funds have been cleared by my bank and made available for withdraw.
Paypal is accepted for the initial deposit only...not the balance. This includes Bill Me Later.
All vehicles shall be removed within 14 days of auction's end. Any vehicle left longer than 14 days without arrangements being made prior to the end of the auction will be subject to a storage fee of $5/day.
Bid Retractions/Changes:
I take selling vehicles on eBay very seriously. In the event of any bid retraction or bid change, it shall be the right of the seller to honor or not honor the outcome of the auction. This descision will be made at the sole discretion of the seller and can be made at any time while the auction is live or after the auction closes regardless of any circumstance. Additionally, any member who changes or withdraws a bid may be permanently barred from bidding on future auctions.
The seller may, at its sole discretion and for any reason deemed appropriate, cancel any bid or restrict any member from bidding on current and future auctions.
