Vehicle Detail

Ok everyone I am re-listing my Quattro since the last auction did not complete. PLEASE if you bid on this make sure you can follow through. A few things first. This car is COMPLETE and original as best that I can tell. It has the original engine, transmission, drive train, interior and so on. This is NOT a modified car. Secondly, IT DOES NOT RUN currently. It has been sitting for years. This is a project car with all the parts. You cannot and will not be able to pick this car up and drive away. It will need to be towed or flatbeded so be aware of that up front. Thirdly, although I appreciate the bidding, I cannot accept bids from outside the US so NO I cannot ship it to Lithuania, Canada or really anywhere else. You will need to come pick it up or have someone pick it up for you. Fourth, Pleae be aware that not only will you be winning the car in this auction, it ALSO include additional sheet metal, manuals and books, some of which are very difficult to find. These will be a nice and needed accessory to help you complete your project. Make sure you look at the photos of the items in the photobucket that I created for the auction. Up for bid is a 1983 Audi Urq Quattro. This model started life in August 1982 and is actually once of the first 1983 models produced. The 1983 models were essentially carry overs from the first year 1982 US models with 289 models produced in 1982. Audi continued the serial numbers for 1983 making this the 30th Urq produced for the US in 1983. According to CarFax this car was first titled in the US in Madison Wisconsin in June 1993. Not sure what happened to it during the years from 1983 to 1993. From there it found a new home in St. Paul Minnesota in October 1993. It next shows up on records as being in Missouri in August 1994 and then to Dayton Virginia in November 1994. I finally took possession of it in August 2000 buying it through a well known Audi mechanic and just titled it in the past few months. The cars paint color originally was Helios Blue. It was offered only on the 1982-83 models and is said to be highly desirable. Unfortunately one of the previous owners thought “white” was a better color. However it was done, the white paint job had not set well and it peeling off in many spots as can be seen in the photos. This is one of the least issues but if you want to restore it to original specs, then that’s the color. The car has all the original equipment as far as I can tell. The fuse box was replaced during the years and it had tune ups during its life. Beyond that it is like stepping back into 1983. All interior leather seats, carpeting, glass, engine, transmission and drive train are here and intact. It even has the original Blaupunk radio. This is not a modified car. Now for the bad news. It has RUST. No way to sugar coat it but there is rust in the car. These cars were made before Audi went to an extensive process of using galvanized sheet metal. Unfortunately this is typical for this particular car, especially if it was not garage kept all its life. This car has seen life on the street. If you look at the pictures I have tried to document it as best as I can so there won’t be any surprises when you pick it up. More photos are available here: http://s1172.photobucket.com/albums/r577/83quattro/ Please look at the photos so you know what you are bidding on. On the good side I am including some spare sheet metal which appears to be rust free. This includes both the left and right doors from a Quattro along with a trunk lid from an 83 Audi GT and a replacement sunroof. The doors do not have any mechanisms or glass. You will have to transfer that over. Again please refer to the pics. Also included is a set of Audi Euro “Blacked out” tail lights. These are pretty hard to find and I was lucky enough to have gotten them with the car. Along with the “blacked out” reflector from the spare trunk lid it should make the car look pretty good. I am also including a small library of books which you will be able to use. Some are very tough to come by. Included in this is the following: An Audi Quattro illustrated catalog. It does not give part numbers but it makes it easy to see how the parts are put together. Very hard to find. A copy of “Audi Driver” magazine focusing on the Urq Quattro. It is a British magazine but has a wealth of information on the Quattro. A Factory Audi Service Training manual. It is used but a rare copy. These are very hard to come by. These were issued to the Audi dealerships to supplement their other repair manuals but this was issued specifically for the special requirements of the Urq. Another Factory Audi Service Manual pertaining to the maintenance and adjustments of the Urq. If you want to know what the factory settings or specs were, this is the manual to find it in. I am including 2 other Robert Bentley manuals. Although they are now specifically written for the Urq, there is much information on the body, electrical and drive train that can carry over. The manuals are for the Audi 4000 1980-1983 and the Audi 5000 1977-1983. Another Robert Bentley book on Bosch Fuel injection and management. Any extra information is a help with these cars. This deals with troubleshooting and servicing the fuel system. A history of progress by Audi. Published in 2003 and available at the dealership, this book documents Audi’s chronology. A must for any Audi fan. Still pricey if you look on Amazon. Lastly a 2000 Hazet tool catalog (Hardcover). If you want to work with some quality German tools, these are the type to buy. This book will show every one and with the Quattro you may need some of the exotic ones. This auction is with “NO RESERVE”. Whoever has the highest bid wins. A $500 deposit must be made within 2 days after the close of bidding and the remainder must be in my possession before title is transferred and possession is given to the new owner. The buyer is responsible for all arrangements of pick up and transportation. No personal checks accepted. PayPal preferred. Certified Money orders must clear before the title and car is transferred. This car is sold “As is”. No warranties or guaranties are given nor implied. GOOD LUCK !!
