Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is our 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet. We bought this in 2006 when we lived in the mountains of North Carolina and we drove it every weekend on the Blue Ridge Parkway (that road begs for a sports car or motorcycle). We have since moved to Ohio and have barely driven the car (about 1000/year). We are older adults and this car has not been raced or driven hard-it's been a weekend car. First thing we did when we bought it was put it in the Porsche dealership (Deal Porsche of Asheville) and had all the light bulbs, switches, latches, clutch adjusted, door seals replaced (if needed), A/C charged, etc-basically fix everything that didn't work ($4100 worth). I hate a car doesn't work properly. Next we put it in the body shop to have the rocker panels and front valance painted with "rock guard' paint. We also had the black rubber/plastic stone guards behind the doors replace and the stone chips in that area repainted. In 2010 we had the fan belts replace, new alternator impellor ($470), new alternator ($375), fan pulleys ($102), grand total about $1200 (did I mention I hate a car that doesn't operate properly?). In 2011 we replaced the tires (about $1000) with factory spec sizes. This year we put a new 60 month battery in it ($125). Everything works except: 1. Factory alarm-it was draining the battery, and after $400 of dealer trouble shooting to find the loose wire we instructed the "technicians" to disconnect it. 2. Odometer-well, it works sometimes. Every year when I retire the car for the driving season (car is never driven in the rain, snow or from Nov.-Mar) I change the oil (it holds 10.2 quarts) and filter, then reset the trip meter so I can keep track of the next oil/filter change). Much to my surprise when we took the car out this year the odometer stopped working, then started , then stopped. Long story short, it registers 119k this year and we have not put even a 100 miles on it (it's been a really busy year for us). When the car is stored for the season, it is connected to a battery tender and started every week with the engine brought up to operating temp. The car has a new MP3 player with 4 new speakers. There is one small rock chip (see photo) that occurred when I didn't have the bug bra on (my bad). Paint shines as best as Porsche paint does (if you know Porsches you know Porsche paint from this era.) The black leather seats have no wear or cracks, and the dash and carpeting is as good as the day it was installed. The top is in great shape and the back window is clear with no cracks. The top does not leak and there is no wind noise when driving. This car has mostly been driven by my wife, and she babies it like no one I've seen. It has not been driven on grocery store trips or on short runs (hard on a Porsche). She is retiring this year and we are selling off our toys (2 motorcycles, VW Vanagon, work truck), etc., so we don't have to insure/ license and do upkeep on everything (we'd like to stay retired and not have to take another job like being a greeter at Wally World). Ask questions-I will do my best to answer them for you. I have 100% positive feedback and do my best to describe what I sell as accurate as possible. I do not accept Pay Pal, and a $500 non refundable deposit is required within 48 hours of auction close, and the balance due by 7 days after auction. Once paid for the car can be picked up/shipped when you are ready for it. It sits in its own climate controlled garage under a car cover away from any people traffic. It is 100% road worthy and can be driven to it's destination-it gets about 28 mpg. If you have less than 100% feedback or no purchases on eBay, you must contact me or I'll delete your bid. TRADES?: The only trade I'll consider is one for a Jeep Wrangler, 4 door, hardtop (probably an 08 or 09) in equally as good of condition. The three pictures below were taken a few years ago, but give you an idea of the color in a different light
