Read carefully. This is a 1981 Volkswagen Rabbit Pickup aka "Caddy" that is titled and registered as a DIESEL but currently has a 1.7L GAS engine. It is in a OK condition for a vehicle it's age. Could use a restoration or drive as is. Reliable and runs cool all day long. Replaced front suspension components, alternator, seats, battery, and a full tuneup. Runs like a champ. Dents on the rear sides near the tail gate. Tailgate lock is broken so I took the tailgate off the truck. It's in my garage ready to be repaired and reinstalled. Needs interior work, but is comfortable as is. Side vent windows need repair, they do not open at the moment without the glass falling out. Climate controls are missing and it blows a gentle warm air once it warms up. Has a habit of losing power when making a hard right turn if the tank is less than half full. Speaking of the gas situation, the fuel level indicator never goes 100% full but a little over half full. Otherwise it seems to display a trustworthy indication of when you're running out of gas, but I fillup when the right turn reminder starts happening! Lots of other quirks to mention, but as I said, it's been a happy reliable little truck that I gets looks and is a awesome candidate for a project, since it's registered diesel it's exempt from regulation and can be modified to your liking.
