Vehicle Detail

Thank you for stopping by to read this ad. "Sanchez" needs a new home! Her original owner, Ursula Sanchez, bought her new in 1970 and drove her until she died in 2009; her nephew sold the car to me that October. As he, a movie and television actor who lives in Santa Monica, told me about his late aunt, and as I marveled at the loyalty she felt towards this car to have driven it for 39 years, I decided to name her "Sanchez" in the late Ms. Sanchez' honor. I come from a family who all drove Dodge Darts at one time or another; my first car was a '68 Dart, which had belonged to my dad and on which I took and passed my road test back in 1980. My plans were to take this fine speciman of a car and restore her to her pristine 1970 glory! I started with a tune-up, new air filter, new wiper blades, new carburetor, new ignition wires, new cap and rotor, new coil, new distributor, new belts/hose, new alternator, new voltage regulator, new ballast resistors (you old Dart fans now how vital THIS part is!), new tires, new seat cover (one small tear that I didn't want to get any bigger), new seat belts, new shocks and just about everything else that I could think of and replace myself or inexpensively by a competent mechanic. I lavished a lot of love on the old girl, and she brought back lots of great memories...she is WAY nicer than my old manual steering, no A/C, manual drum brakes all around pillared '68 ever was! So why am I selling this great car? Sad, familiar but simple story: I went back to college in 2004 (at the ripe old age of 41) and bought her 5 years later. Since then, I graduated and now work 41 miles from home (82 miles a day on a low mileage 42 year old car adds up quickly!) and, like everybody else, the economic downturn has forced me to sell my home, meaning that "Sanchez" needs a new place to live, and I can no longer give her the time and financial attention that she so richly deserves. That's where you come in: If you love old Darts like I do (and like Ursula Sanchez did) and you love a car with an interesting history and connections to Hollywood, maybe you can be Owner #3. Will you be the one to finish what I started, and make the old gal like new again? I hope so; if I can't be there for her, someone else who loves and appreciates everyday antique rolling pieces of history like this Dodge Dart can. In addition to everything I mentioned, I have other parts I haven't gotten around to putting in yet which come with the car, as well a second full set of wheel covers (which I purchased, along with a replacement for a dented original, right here on Ebay). I found "Sanchez" on Ebay; now it's your turn! Thanks again for reading!
