Vehicle Detail
1986 1/2 Porsche 928S with 5 speed manual transmission. Car is Iris Blue metallic (L33P) with beige leather interior. Car Features: 5.0 Liter V-8 Aluminum Block Engine, 32-V, beefed to over 350 BHP Power Steering '87 Fiberglass front and rear kit Rear Windscreen Wiper '87 Rear spoiler Front and Rear Spoilers '87 Roof antenna Foglights $5000 brand new stereo with boom box and 16 speakers Headlight Washers 5 speed manual dogleg transaxle transmission with short shifter Power Sunroof Doug's headers and custom exhaust with glaspacks Heated Power side-view mirrors Computer chip Power Rear Hatch Release Custom 2.7 positraction rear end A/C with automatic climate control Heavy Duty suspension Central Locking Alarm System 50/50 weight distribution Cruise Control Power leather heated seats Too many new parts to mention. Power windows '87 power brakes with 4-piston calipers ABS This car is a true exotic. Car is in good shape mechanically and the metallic paint of 928's has historically held up well. Dashboard has several cracks like most 928's. Car is the fastest '86 I've ever seen. 928's were designed to do 160+ on the autobahn all day long and many are still doing so today over there. It's still got a lot of life in it. The car has been modified to beat Corvettes and Ferrari's on the Interstate. It has not been hot-rodded. Big difference. The car just can't go 65. There are too many new parts to mention. Anything that needed replacing-was. I bought the car in March 1990 in Mississippi with 28K miles on it. I have had the car 25 years. I am the third owner. It's just time for something new. Car has been garaged every winter. In late 1986, revised suspension settings, larger brakes with 4-piston calipers and modified exhausts were installed on the 928S, marking the final changes to old body style cars. These were straight from the 928S4, which was slated to debut a few months later. These changes came starting with VIN 1001, which means that the first thousand '86's had the old brakes, but later cars had the later systems. This later 1986 model is sometimes referred to as a 1986 1/2 or 1986.5 because of these changes. It's still got a lot of life in it. The car has been modified to beat Corvettes and Ferrari's on the Interstate. It has a unique sound. Combination Ferrari with those injectors but with the headers and glaspaks it "raps" out the back like a small block Chevy. It has not been hot-rodded. Big difference. The car just can't go 65. There are too many new parts to mention. Anything that needed to be replaced-was. It's driven daily in the summers. Sorry for the lousy pics. I couldn't pull it all the way out of the garage because some clown was parked behind me. I bought the car in March 1990 in Mississippi with 28K miles on it. I have had the car 21 years. This car comes with a box full of receipts and a whole bunch of highly collectible Porsche 928 literature. I won the 1994 Porsche Parade Autocross Championship in it, too.
