This is a 1991 ex- North Carolina Highway Patrol Special Service Package Mustang LX Coupe. It is all original except for the cold air kit and Wheels. I have the original Air box and Intake Silencer if you want to return to stock. The only thing else unoriginal is the ten spoke 15 inch wheels which are available as they were on many Mustangs and Capri's of the 1985 to 1990 model years. I have a Police Interceptor Badge that was in the trunk never installed when I bought it from the Highway Patrol at auction in 1993. I have been the one and only owner of this car since I bought it at auction in Greensboro NC in 1993. It spent its Patrol Days as an Interstate Interceptor on Interstates I-40 and I-85 in the Greensboro Area. I have the original State Department of Crime Control and Public Safety Title and it still has the sticker "Property of the NC State Department of Crime Control and Public Safety. It has the rings for the original Keys, Two Original Keys and one Duplicate, the owners manual and paperwork and an inch think maintenance folder showing all the work done on the car by the Highway Patrol. It also has the "trooper" light still in place of the interior dome light, really lights up the interior at night. The 5.0 Liter HO motor has never been into and the same goes for the original AOD automatic Overdrive transmission. It does not burn oil and runs as strong as when I bought it. It has had the same maintenance schedule as did the car when it was a patrol car & I owe this to the cars longevity. It has been my wife's daily driver for the past several years and if we were not moving to the Virgin Islands I would not be selling this car. I believe it to be the only NC highway Mustang to have been built with a blue interior, I may be wrong but several troopers have told me they never saw one with blue interior. It has the Highway Patrol Gatorback Goodyear full size spare, and the HP remote trunk release moved over to under the drivers dash. It has 2.73 rear gears and all heavy-duty equipment is still in place, oil to water cooler, tranny cooler, power steering cooler and rear end cooler. It will idle all day long without even thinking about running hot even in NC 100 degree temps. I believe this to be the most documented SSP package car as a NC survivor, it states on the body buck plates Special Service Package which you can see in the pictures. I hope someone will want this car to restore to HP look, and not a drag racer looking for a lightweight Coupe to stick a tunnel ram through the hood.
