Save Our Hard Working Trucks!! Fall on hard times? Can't swing a new truck? Wanna pay cash and actually OWN something rather than payments? Maybe you just need a beater plow/haul truck for those "less than stellar" employees or the back lot? Here's your answer!! We took this one in on trade and frankly....we gave too much for it! Our loss, your gain! NO RESERVE! As you can see, it's plenty rusty, but very trusty. The bumper is the biggest eyesore on the entire truck, to be honest. As far as I can tell, the truck used to be used as a municipal fleet vehicle. Numbers on the body. Base interior. Damn near new tires at every corner must have cost a bundle. Looks to be a Western plow mount which isn't cheap to buy or install. Sorry, no plow or related controls come with this truck. You can clearly see it was used to plow during salty conditions, with the underside surface rust. Typical for it's age and use. Believe it or not, the thing doesn't leak a drop of oil or coolant or gear lube or trans fluid except from the oil filter seal. I'll be installing a new filter as the oil looks recently changed. Front differential is dry on the outside. Note the tires below. They ride on damage/vibration free rims. Not a noise even at 70mph! Hub locks work perfectly. 4x4 operates perfectly in low and high gears. 4wd is tight and noise free. With the exception of some surface rust spots, the body is amazingly straight. No exterior holes or missing body parts. Paint looks to be original. Plenty of rockchips and scratches, it IS a truck after all. A handfull of dings and barely any noticable dents. Even tho there is plenty of lip rust, the doors look pretty solid and repairable if desired. I'd personally just leave it and have it detailed/waxed and touchup the spots. Maybe use the rubber rock guard coating around the bottom body trim. Please do not expect a clean underside on this truck. It's played in the salt and snow much of it's life, I'm sure. Honestly tho, the susupension, as ugly as it is, doesn't make a sound! It doesn't rattle, squeak or pop over bumps or thru potholes! My 02 F250 with LESS miles isn't as nice a ride as this 99!! Seriously. It doesn't yank around or pull or wander. Straight down the road, nice and smooth. It will feel justlikenew2u! You can see the tailgate and bumper have seen better days. Still soild enough to work with. Rear frame hitch looks unused as it will need some cleaning before you can slip a hitch ball bracket in there. Looks to have 3 different forms of trailer wiring plugs. I don't know if they work or not, but the wiring looks clean and unmolested. Above, the complete spare tire and jack setup are intact. Note the rear differential is leak-free! Bed looks to have hauled some heavy stuff, but still plenty functional. Check out some prices on those style aluminum truck boxes. This truck comes with them! NO RESERVE! Interior, as boring as it is, still offers comfort and nessessary items, AirBag, seatbelts, seating for 3 large people, plenty of storage behind the seat, CRUISE control AND ICE COLD AIR CONDITIONING!! I'm quite jealous as my 2002 F250 dosen't have cruise and the AC doesn't work. Front seat has typical repairable tears from getting in and out. The cab displays some rust in the usual corner location, but not so bad as compared to most F-series trucks of this age and mileage. Again, totally repairable if desired. All dummy lights illuminate as they should upon startup. Door Ajar light is finnicky and random. Service Engine Soon is on, see below description as to why. Cup Holders, 12volt port, AM/FM radio works properly. Quite a few holes drilled into the plastic trim around the dash. Most likely for plow controls, etc. 5.4 Trition. Of course here's where my headache lies in money loss. Typical bad coils and exhaust manifold leaks. They weren't leaking very bad when I got the truck. But after I put on some miles, BOTH sides started leaking horribly. The usual rearward studs broke and I'm not going to even mess with it. As you may have seen above, I'm including brand new Fel-pro exhaust manifold gaskets and some leftover studs/nuts from a previous V10 Bus I had years ago with the same issue. 4 studs broke but more will follow when you remove the manifolds. I'm giving you plenty for repairs. I personally would buy a set of new headers off Ebay(item # 180930415972 for $200) and replace the whole setup. The previous owner of this truck stated he had ALL of the sparkplugs replaced. I pulled one to verify and they are spankin new. The coils fail on these regularly. I just replaced ALL mine in my 02 rig. Bought em in a set with lifetime warranty (item# 251112930258) off ebay for under $65! Fixed my misfiring prob. So....right now this truck fires right up. Both manifolds are leaking and I don't know how many coils are bad, but with a little extra time and minimal cash, this truck can most likely be brought back to it's former powerhouse self! For the records, even with the power loss, I've driven the truck on the highway to over 70mph. Yes you can tell it's down on power, but it's NOT smoking (as if a bad cylinder leaving raw fuel). It's NOT overheating(as if a bad head gasket). I personally would order the lifetime coils and buy some remanned fuel injectors(item #130721176792 for $99) to swap out while fixing the exhaust. This way the engine's electronics are in tip top shape for work ahead! Battery is strong. The transmission fluid is clean and it shifts perfectly. No slipping or lazy shifts. No slop in the drivetrain, shafts or joints. Brakes feel good but suffer from a little vacuum loss at low idle from the misfiring. As stated above, the truck is smooth and tight...but to say as good as a newer truck, wouldn't be a lie. If you are to drive it a short distance from me (Joliet Illinois Area) then I'd say drive it home. But if you live some ways away, like another state....I'd have it trailered or towed. Entirely YOUR call, as the buyer. But, the truck fires right up, runs and drives. Hence my NO RESERVE!! GOOD LUCK!! Below is another underside pic I added to show the trans pan isn't leaking and the underside isn't covered in oil or anything. Don't forget this thing can handle a 5th-wheeler trailer if needed!! I apologize in advance if I sound like I'm scolding....but this NEEDS to be said. This vehicle is AS-IS/AS-SHOWN. The vehicle is in Illinois being sold by a dealer. WE CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE for your individual state's "inspection" or emissions compliance. I am simply trying to offer you and possibly your family a quality reliable vehicle. 690,000 cars were pulled from our roads during the Clunkers "program"....like most Americans, I still can't afford a new car and now have to sell(and drive)from what's left. I sell $3000-$6000 vehicles. Mostly what I would personally drive or own. I don't know if you are buying in my state or in Virginia or California...so I HAVE to make our cars ready for the road trip. I don't know who will be driving the car....so I HAVE to make it ready for your teen or your job in the morning. I can only promise I do the BEST that I can with what I have and what I sell. My EXCELLENT FEEDBACKS prove it. I'm not here to rip people off. I'm also here to help so feel free to contact me after purchase for anything....or even if you have any questions about a future purchase. Also, understand that I spend many countless hours (inspecting, repairing, cleaning, taking pics and writing specific personal ads) for everything I sell...not to mention the $125 sell fee that is charged to me at the end. Please don't jack around if you don't plan to go thru with the purchase. Thanks for your understanding. Now you're at the bottom. Hopefully I've covered the main specifics of the vehicle and eased your mind. I understand that you are putting yourself or your loved ones in this vehicle. I personally have put my own mother in an 01 C70 with 175k miles(which I just roadtripped 1500miles) and I personally drove a 98 S70 with 220k miles(which I just sold-see POSITIVE feedback)! Many of my personal friends drive cars that I have sold them. I treat you no different. If I haven't covered any of your questions or concerns, please feel free to email or call me at 815.744.7223. My name is Eric. Also understand that I have the right to end the auction early due to local sale. I STILL REQUIRE a $500 deposit to be made within 24hours. Use Paypal for the deposit please. Of course I understand each bidder/buyer has different payment needs. Sorry....no financing is available on this transaction. Please secure your own from you bank of choice BEFORE bidding. Remember....24 hours $500 deposit due....3 days for payment in FULL. Naturally I will assist in ANY shipping needs! Thank you for your interest on this NO RESERVE auction! GOOD LUCK!
