Vehicle Detail
Hello, this listing is for a 1956 Mercury Custom 2-door hardtop that belongs to a good friend who has owned it since about 1995. He is selling it because he has too many vehicles, and this one does not get driven as much as it should anymore. I will describe the car to the best of my abilities, and can answer any other questions on request. A $200.00 deposit will be due through PayPal within 24-hours of listing end. Remainder must be received and cleared before car will be released, cash is strongly preferred. Must be payed for in full and picked up within 1-week of listing end, unless other arrangements are made. 1956 Mercury Custom 2-door hardtop. Runs and drives great. Has a 302 Small Block Ford V8 with aftermarket intake/carburetor,and C4 automatic transmission. Car can be driven anywhere,it is a driver. Good brakes, nice wide whitewall bias ply tires. All lights work. The exterior looks great. It has a mild custom treatment,it has been lowered as much as possible without out cutting/modifying anything. There is a continental kit on the back, fender skirts, and a few other little things done. Custom pinstriping. Interior is in great condition overall. The car was repainted some time around 1996 or so,and the paint has held up well over the years. There is a small crack in the paint behind the right rear tire, and 2 or 3 very small bubbles popping through on the bottom of the right front fender. All of which has been pictured. Car is not a rust bucket and shows well. Paint is glossy all around. Some of the chrome trim around the windows does have some pitting. All of the glass is good. This is a nice car that you can get in,drive, and enjoy. It has won many trophies over the years. It really does not need anything to enjoy it as it sits, just needs someone to drive it more often. It is not a trailer queen, but is far from crap. Same owner for 17-years,owner is a retired mechanic/bodyman. It presents itself very well. Any known issues/problems have been noted/pictured. Clear IL Title. There is a reasonable reserve set on it. It is also advertised for sale locally. Located in Burbank,IL 60459. Please feel free to ask any questions at all. We do not want any confusion. You are welcome to come see the car in person first if you are able to do so.
