Can you believe THIS car was nearly $40,000 new in 2001?!? Beautiful Volvo dealer serviced 2 owner 2001 V70 NON-AWD 2.4 T turbo wagon with 3rd row and ICE COLD AIR CONDITIONING!! NO RESERVE = No Brainer. Below is the kbb.com Private Party Value for this car in my area. Please bid accordingly as I assure you, others will!! http://www.kbb.com/volvo/v70/2001-volvo-v70/24t-wagon-4d/?vehicleid=5348&intent=trade-in-sell&mileage=160000&options=204819%7ctrue%7c204857%7ctrue%7c204933%7ctrue%7c204955%7ctrue%7c204953%7ctrue&pricetype=private-party This car started out as a $39,000 new vehicle and was sold to a 2nd owner thru the Volvo Certified Program. I have the original window stickers to prove it. I also have proof of some recent Dealer servicing as well as the usual visual confirmations. Of course this attached to my excellent Volvo sales feedback, NO WORRIES for you!! The car is in excellent shape inside and out. Believe it or not, it actually still needs a professional detail. Hard to see until you put your eyes on it but there are a few tree sap stains and the paint is due for a waxing. Proper detailer will buff the paint and restore it to justlikenew2u! The exterior is easily an 8.5 out of 10 with barely any rockchips. I can count on one hand how many dings I can find. Absolutely zero dents. I'm no bodyman, but I don't see any signs of major body repair and my cellphone Autocheck shows Zero accidents. Bumpercovers front and rear have no cracks or damages. Tires are nearly new and matching at every corner. They ride on straight undamaged vibration-free rims. It's ridiculous how good this car looks. I wish ALL my high milers looked as well as this car does! Again, the paint still needs waxing! Note the lack of fading or dryness of the vinyl trim! Below is the ONLY eyesore on the exterior, and you can barely notice it until now when I point it out to you. Surface rust spot. As you know, Volvos don't rust. I can only assume this panel was repainted at one point in it's life because that's the only way rust "appears" on a V70 like this. It's touched up nicely at least. Engine compartment is super clean. Clean enough to eat off of! As you know, I inspect and rehab my cars for you. This car no different. The engine fires right up and runs strong. Turbo is smooth and quiet. Battery is strong. Air filter is clean. Absolutely no signs of any major oil or coolant leaks. Doesn't drip a drop of anything on my shop floor while parked and I can't see anything. ALL fluids are clean. Spark plugs are recent. Timing belt has been changed during proper 100k intervals but I would recommend a fresh one soon within the next 10k miles or so, JUST so you know when it was done for sure, records-wise. It's cheap insurance and piece of mind. No overheating. No unusual noises from the engine, transmission, drivetrain or suspension. The car with definitely need rear shocks as I (and the Volvo dealership) recommend replacement. You can feel it over harsh bumps. Front suspension is tight. The car drives straight and smooth with no wandering or pulling. Tires, brakes and fluids are all recently new. It's actually quite relaxing, to be honest, comfy leather seats, AC on, cruise on, smooth ride, super value! Annndddd....here's the story on the car, or at least why I have some Volvo dealer history on it. As you may or may not know, the 2001-02 V70 5-speed transmission lineup wasn't the most reliable. NOT because they failed from breakage, but from lack of proper maintenance. Volvo called the transmission SEALED and LIFETIME FLUID. Yeah right. Also, they issued SOFTWARE UPDATES to correct shifting problems. Volvo, naturally, only wants to install a new transmission since it's out of warranty. Main mistake is most driver's won't even look into transmission servicing until there's a problem. This car no different. I ALWAYS drive my cars that I sell. Usually 100s of miles. After picking up this car and driving it during this last heatwave, I was able to put it thru some harsh paces. Literally 100+ degrees outside here in Illinois. After some miles and heatup, the transmission displayed the typical SHIFT FLARE or BANGING into 3 and 4th gears. Also very harsh downshifting. Since I'm aware of the SIGNS, I already started the process of FLUSHING the transmission. Long story short, the issue usually lies in the electronic solenoids, so much there are replacement kits out there to fix it (type in AW55-50N in the search bar) and can be done with the trans in the car. Since the car worked perfectly while cold and mild heat, the fluid was contaminated (never changed), and the transmission NEVER slipped, I'm convinced it only needed an in-depth servicing. So, the first round of flushing completed. Then the second along with a dose of Seafoam TransTune to help clean the solenoids. In the meantime, I'm on the phone with Volvo. I ordered the famous updated B4 SERVO cover(that fails) and replaced it. The car had the UPDATED software back in 2011, BUT, even under the recommendation of Volvo, the trans was never flushed. Already, I can feel a difference within the second flush. More miles driven, the FLARES are less often, but still harsh and more random. The car also requires a transmission RESET after the flushing is performed and I will need the dealer to perform this. 3rd round of fluid flushing is performed by myself with the correct Volvo-spec fluid and another can of Seafoam. Fluid is now clean. I also ordered the lower torque-strut that ALWAYS fails and adds to the shifting problems. So that assembly is new on this car. Understand, the car is now shifting much much better than when I started the process. Off to Volvo to check the software and RESET the adaptation values of the new fluid. Volvo ran the diagnostics and found NO codes or problems. Transmission software was current, but they reset the values and drove the car to set the adaptation base. Please note, the car will now be constantly learning the new shift points since the fluid is clean and the pressure is proper. Left the dealer and drove it back to my shop. Not a single shift problem. Not convinced, I drive it locally thru some small stop and go sequences. Only then was I able to experience a 3-4 shift HICCUP, NOT a BANG or FLARE. It literally floated RPMs for a quick second then shifted. But this time it was smooth. Clearly the Seafoam is doing it's job and the RESET was in order. I literally have driven it another 150miles on the highway along with some local things, tollbooth stops, accelerations, downshifts, stop and go, I honesly have NOT gotten it to consistently hiccup! Only a handful of random moments, did it hiccup, but only under light throttle. This isn't to say it's totally gone, but the car still NEEDS to be driven under normal routine daily life conditions. I'm nearly sure the problem is on it's way to healing, if the car does it in the future, it will be purely random and inconsistent. I promise you this car is pure joy to drive regardless of the shift issue! Did I mention NO RESERVE on this $5000 car?? SIDENOTE: I'd recommend buying one of those affordable aftermarket catastrophic WARRANTYs. They are cheap and will cover any future major failures, Wink-Wink ;o) The interior looks great but definitely needs the professional detailer touch. Everything is in nice condition but as you know, the tan tends to HOLD the stains in from the years of use. I simply do not have the proper cleaners to do a total cleaning. This car seemed to have minimal soccermom use but for sure had a large dog inside. Doesn't smell of animals tho, but reminants of fur was in the far trunk area. I hate smoke and I don't see or smell any signs of a smoker owned vehicle. Otherwise the interior is super comfortable and very appealing, especially for those roadtrips! Driver's bolster has minimal wear. No rips, cuts or tears in the leather. Even the steering wheel is unworn! As you can see, ALL the dummy lights illuminate upon startup with NO lights on during run. None have come on the entire time I've had the car (over 300+ miles driven) and you will notice below the infor panel leaves 0 Message(s). ALL the power items work as they should including the cruise, ICE COLD AIR, Auto windows, locks, radio, climate control, mirrors, info panel, sunroof, power memory heated seats, etc! Ahhh, the beloved 3rd row seating!! Unseen is the COMPLETE intact spare tire setup. Below you can see the piles of history on the car. Original window sticker. Original secondary Certified sticker. Factory manuals. Business card. I even have the latest Volvo Service printout of the most recent work recommended and completed. Comes with everything as you see it along with one factory Key and one working (controls the memory settings for the driver's seat as well) keyless keyfob. Sorry, no factory floormats. Outside the above description, the car is ready to go. BID BUY AND DRIVE ANYWHERE WITH 100% CONFIDENCE! I seriously have no problems taking this car on any roadtrip especially on the highway where this car shines! Remember, SAVE BIG with NO RESERVE!! GOOD LUCK! I apologize in advance if I sound like I'm scolding....but this NEEDS to be said. This vehicle is AS-IS/AS-SHOWN. The vehicle is in Illinois being sold by a dealer. WE CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE for your individual state's "inspection" or emissions compliance. I am simply trying to offer you and possibly your family a quality reliable vehicle. 690,000 cars were pulled from our roads during the Clunkers "program"....like most Americans, I still can't afford a new car and now have to sell(and drive)from what's left. I sell $3000-$6000 vehicles. Mostly what I would personally drive or own. I don't know if you are buying in my state or in Virginia or California...so I HAVE to make our cars ready for the road trip. I don't know who will be driving the car....so I HAVE to make it ready for your teen or your job in the morning. I can only promise I do the BEST that I can with what I have and what I sell. My EXCELLENT FEEDBACKS prove it. I'm not here to rip people off. I'm also here to help so feel free to contact me after purchase for anything....or even if you have any questions about a future purchase. Also, understand that I spend many countless hours (inspecting, repairing, cleaning, taking pics and writing specific personal ads) for everything I sell...not to mention the $125 sell fee that is charged to me at the end. Please don't jack around if you don't plan to go thru with the purchase. Thanks for your understanding. Now you're at the bottom. Hopefully I've covered the main specifics of the vehicle and eased your mind. I understand that you are putting yourself or your loved ones in this vehicle. I personally have put my own mother in an 01 C70 with 175k miles(which I just roadtripped 1500miles) and I personally drove a 98 S70 with 220k miles(which I just sold-see POSITIVE feedback)! Many of my personal friends drive cars that I have sold them. I treat you no different. If I haven't covered any of your questions or concerns, please feel free to email or call me at 815.744.7223. My name is Eric. Also understand that I have the right to end the auction early due to local sale. I STILL REQUIRE a $500 deposit to be made within 24hours. Use Paypal for the deposit please. Of course I understand each bidder/buyer has different payment needs. Sorry....no financing is available on this transaction. Please secure your own from you bank of choice BEFORE bidding. Remember....24 hours $500 deposit due....3 days for payment in FULL. Naturally I will assist in ANY shipping needs! Thank you for your interest on this NO RESERVE auction! GOOD LUCK! Venue of sale is Will County, Illinois. ALL BUYERS are responsible for $99 DOC fee. ALL ILLINOIS BUYERS responsible for 7% sales tax, $99 License Plate fee (or $30 current valid plate transfer fee), $95 Title fee. ALL COOK COUNTY (Chicago area) BUYERS responsible for 8.25% sales tax. There are about 8 other states that I (unfortunately) have to collect tax....but it's usually at a discount vs. regular in state. Vehicle is sold AS-IS/AS-SHOWN with no warranty expressed or implied. Please follow deposit and payment instructions posted. Cash in person is preferred payment. After full payment is made, you will receive vehicle (as shown/stated in this ad), title, associated paperwork and key(s).
