Vehicle Detail

The Mercedes 1969 280SE motorcar is one of the finest examples of sculptured moving work of art. This high grille 280SE, in my opinion, is one of the most handsome timeless classics ever to emerge from the Mercedes factory in Stuttgart, Germany. I purchased this particular motorcar, with 58,293 miles, while on a holiday in Siesta Key, Florida in the winter of 1999. I drove it for the two weeks while I was there, and then had it shipped to Ohio. I was in the process of building my dream home, so the car was stored in my large car garage where I keep my classic car collection. Unfortunately, with a new property to develop and a home to finish, the car was moved to the back of the building. Now, 13 years later, with other cars to restore, I have decided to sell this classic. My mechanic was able to start the car by adding gas directly to the engine, but said the fuel system needs to be cleaned before it is run. The body is solid, having been a Florida car. It appears that the car was repainted some time before I purchased it. There was rust on both front fender bottoms which was not properly repaired before painting (see photos). The chrome is brilliant, and the paint shines well. The previous owned had removed the heater motor for reasons which I do not know, and it is in the truck. The seats are in beautiful condition, with no rips or tears that I could see. The wood veneer is lifting from age. This is a timeless classic that needs to be restored to its original beauty. I will be happy to answer any questions. This automobile is for the true Mercedes connoisseur who understands the rarity of this example as an investment and the endless pride of ownership.
