Vehicle Detail
It truly pains me to list this for sale, after all the countless hours and $$$ I have invested into it. But my priorities have changed, and unfortunately I do not have the time for this vehicle that it deserves. I've showed cost next to the items I can remember prices for. 88 Suzuki Samurai 130kmi AHU TDI 1.9 turbo diesel engine from 98 jetta, these engines alone sell for $1500+ ACME adapters bellhousing adapter and engine mounts, custom flywheel $425 Mechanical injection pump with larger 20mm mainshaft and 12mm pump head $1600, good for 300hp with big enough turbo w w w .advancedautomotion.com/product_info.php?cPath=66_132&products_id=109 Bosio PP520 injector nozzles $290 EGR block off plates New VW internal oil pan baffle New engine rear main seal, transmission input shaft seal Custom intake, airbox and snorkel New heater core $80 2.25 inch mandrel bend intake plumbing, using high temperature silicone hose fittings Stock TDI fuel filter Electric fan activated by OEM VW radiator switch, with dash mounted manual switch New sidekick/tracker starter $170 with clicking soenoid fix 26 inch crossflow radiator $205 Petroworks performance clutch (stock clutch slipped instantly with the TDI engine even with the fuel pump turned down to a minimum) $225 1.8t angled oil filter housing to clear frame Custom made stainless braided turbo oil line Bolt on 5 inch SPOA Calmini lift with aluminum driveshaft spacers and extended brake lines $569.95 3 inch body lift $109.95 Custom turbo to tailpipe TIG welded 2.25 inch mandrel bent straight pipe exhaust, single resonator Custom high steering setup with sidekick/tracker replaceable joints Warn M8000 winch with synthetic cable on custom aluminum front bumper Electric lift pump with manual dash switch Glow plugs wired to solenoid and manual dash switch New 15x10 black steel wheels $320 New 265-75-15 studded winterforce snow tires (close to same size as a 31-10.5-15) $400 Toyota T100 shocks in the front, 2nd gen Supra shocks in the rear Boost gauge, oil pressure gauge, coolant temperature gauge (with sending unit in stock TDI location), exhaust gas temperature thermocouple and gauge Newer Canvas Top Front axle knuckles just rebuilt (king pin bearings, wheel bearings, all seals, used high temp synthetic grease, grease fittings added for upper kingpin bearings) I have spent countless hours on this vehicle. Starts better and faster than any electronic TDI engine I have owned (on the first crank). Only takes one 12v wire to run once started, can run totally submerged underwater. Exhaust sounds good and has nice turbo whistle. Planned on adding methanol injection rather than run an intercooler. Rear axle needs pinion seal, body is far from perfect and has some prior rust repair, but is definitely not junk. I will try and get some more photos up soon. A little tinkering and this will be ready for the road, but because I have not driven it much since the conversion, I would recommend trailering it home. On Jul-01-12 at 18:08:10 PDT, seller added the following information:I have added more pictures, including some that show items I will also be including along with the Samurai if the buyer would like them... a spare complete rear axle, a parts front axle, a pair of headlight brush guards, an extra electric fan that I had planned on adding alongside the one that is currently on the radiator, a brand new muffler that can be put in place if you would like a quieter exhaust note, the winch remote, a new parking brake cable (which is needed for the parking brake to be functional), a warn winch bag and snatch block, and some additional winching shackles. If anyone has any questions or would like any additional pictures of anything, please let me know. Thanks for bidding! -Chris
