97 ford aspire, 5spd. Rear main has a slow leak, I didnt notice one of the shaft seals was leaking too. Trans ran dry, started making noise. Filled back up and stopped making the noise, but still leaks, worse now than before. Drivable but I wouldnt drive it too far. Been my work commuter for 6yrs. Runs great, 162K miles, 30-35 mpg. Doesnt smoke or burn anything. Tires have less than 15k. Shes ugly but Ive taken care of her maint wise. Oil changed every 5k with mobile 1 clean 5000 5w30. Factory no a/c. Below is a list of some of the stuff Ive done that I can remember. I would fix the trans and keep it myself, but we recently had a baby and I would like something with a/c for her sake. I also have new lower control arms(with ball joints) and sway bar bushings that I never got around to putting on. Right lower ball joint is bad, been driving it like that for a few yrs now.
