Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a beautiful 1985 dodge W-350 resto-mod pickup, originally the truck was a 360/4 speed leaf spring gas truck. I had the truck converted to a diesel with a 1995 cummins 12 valve engine with a 5 speed nv4500 transmission. this truck has been a load of fun to build and drive, as well as a head turner every where i drive it. selling it to move on to other projects, here is a list of most of the modifications and parts replaced: The front end of the truck was converted to the newer of the generation 89-93 grille, fenders, hood, intercooler, dash, and wiring harness.Rebuilt nv4500 5 speed transmission with all new synchro's, an updated fully splined main shaft, updated 5th gear and nut, blue menthals cast iron tail shaft, and a valair single disk Kevlar/ceramic button clutch capable of holding 550hp, and also got a new throwout bearing while i was at it. Rebuilt np241 transfer case with a new chain, pump, and input shaft.Balanced two piece rear drive shaft with all new 1410 u-joints.The rear axle was originally a Dana 60 but i swapped it for a more robust Dana 80 with 3.54 gears. Before installing i had the rear end re-sealed and I installed a chrome diff cover. The front axle was also originally a leaf sprung Dana 60 also but i swapped in a coil sprung Dana 60. The front axle has been completely rebuilt from hub to hub, a brand new Yukon gear 3.54 gear set was installed, the cad system was converted over to full manual set up using a posi-lok kit, all new bearings, u-joints, seals, rotors, calipers, and brakes were also installed. its installed in the truck via a custom 3-link suspension set up with a small sub-frame that also ties in to the rear axle of the truck by some custom traction bars. with the spring buckets that were built on to the factory frame i was able to utilize factory 94-01 dodge ram coil springs so the ride is very nice up front. The complete fuel system has been replaced from the tank to the injection pump ( did not need to replace injection pump) the tank has a Vulcan performance 5/8 draw straw installed with 1/2 Parker fuel lines to a carter 4601hp fuel pump which supplies a new airtex block mounted lift pump. Also installed a new tork-tek adjustable o.f.v.The motor has had a set of 5x14 injectors, 4k gsk, 60mm vvt turbo, 0 fuel plate, custom 4" air intake and afe filter, new water pump, silla aluminum radiator, new dayco belts, tensioner, optima blue top battery, and a new starter. It breathes through a hx40 style 4" down pipe to a 5" exhaust to the rear of the truck. All air conditioning components have been replaced. Compressor, condenser, dryer, evaporator, blower motor, expansion valve, sensors, heater core, with a fresh charge of r-134a. All of the lights have been replaced; headlights are new diamond cut 4x6 with 6k hid headlights, clear side marker lights, and clear tail lights with red 1157 bulbsBoth front and rear bumpers have been replaced with new chrome ones.New oem mopar front grille shell (93 style).Every seal and rubber piece in the cab of the truck has been replaced as well as a new windshield, had the windows tinted, and sound deadened the entire cab of the truck with FatMat. The truck has manual crank windows with power door locks added via key less entry. All factory gauges work except the odometer which quit about two weeks ago (if you research this is a common problem and is about a $50.00 fix) I have also added 5 Auto meter gauges to keep a closer eye on what the engine is doing. I added fuel pressure, oil pressure, two boost gauges (one for boost and one for drive pressure) and a pyrometer.Has a new A.C.C. black carpet kitAll interior pieces have been dyed black, the seats and visors were professionally recovered with black vinyl with blue accents. In the audio dept. It has a pioneer usb cd player, 1 MB quart 6x9 in each door, 2 MB quart 6.5's tucked in each rear corner, and a single 12" MB quart sub woofer, driven by and autotek amplifier for a total of 9 speakers in the cab!!! For tires and wheels it has an older set of weld forged dagger 8's 20x10 in chrome (some pitting) and 35" Nitto terra-grappler tiresThe truck was professionally prepped and painted with ppg products and the color is called electric blue (98 dodge viper color) the frame was sand blasted and painted black. Some suspension components as well as engine pieces were painted to match the exterior of the truck. over 10k in prep and paint alone!! As you can see no expense has been spared in the building of this truck, it has been awesome building it and seeing the outcome. I have had the truck to a couple of small shows and garners attention where ever it goes! As with any project there are a couple of items that need to be completed, i have yet to install the 4wd shifter and connect to the transfer case, and when we originally mounted the shocks on the rear axle the right one does not clear the exhaust so i removed it. ( still have the shock that's painted to match). I have driven the truck roughly 8k miles since the frame off rebuild and its a ton of fun to drive! as with any old truck it squeaks every now and then, you can hear the motor running loud and clear, and the steering has some play in it. so if you expecting to jump into a 2012 driving and sounding truck this one is not for you. I have around 80 pictures documenting the entire build and will be available to the buyer if wanted. If you have any question feel free to contact me, i have a clear Florida title in hand ready for the next person in line. Truck is sold as-is with no warranty expressed nor implied and buyer to arrange shipping!
