OK. Where do I start with this super cool Ford Maverick!! 1st off let me start by saying this is a nice head turner and I really do not want to sell it, but my wife is nagging me that I have to many toys!!! This car runs and drives down the road pretty well for a 40 year old car!! Although not a original Grabber, I do believe it is a original V-8 car, and my understanding is that it has the original engine still in the car. I was told that the miles (got from second owner) are supposed to be original (39,000) but who can say! My body shop man said it may be the original miles as the rockers were rock solid and sporting the original paint with NO ROCK CHIPS!!! The original AM/FM radio still function nicely providing a retro sound while cruising. The heater also works well. This is a factory AC car, but the stuff on the engine for AC is gone. Included in the sale is the AC condenser. Also, 2 of the original rims along with all 4 beauty rings and center caps. 14 inch. All the lights work well including the headlights, brake lights, side marker lights and blinkers. The horn does not work and I have not checked out why. There are a lot of new parts on this car. The 302 is mildly built with headers, aluminum intake, Holley carb, duel exhaust and a mild nice sounding cam!! The motor blows no smoke and makes no funny noises and runs out strong. The tranny I'm told has a shift kit in it and judging by the shifting I would say for sure it does. Let me go thru a list of recent stuff. What I have put in the car. Also note most everything was removed for painting the car. The doors, hood, trunk lid, glass, door handles and locks, etc......... The paint job of course is base coat clear coat done in PPG the new style Ford Grabber blue. It is cut and buffed nicely and the stripes were professionally installed. Only 2 small patch panels behind the rear wheel well were required on this super solid car. The doors open and close well. I have a clear MN title with collector plates and the Keys unlock and lock everything as they should and the windows roll up and down nicely as well. (Once in awhile the drivers lock messes with me) I do not need to sell this car but as always I put a super fair buy it now price, and most of my auctions end with a buy it now purchase. The buy it now price includes pickup at either Fargo ND airport or Bemidji, MN airport. And a full tank of gas for your road trip home. I have drove this car 200 miles one way and honestly would not hesitate to jump in it and drive to California! The speedo works well as well as the aftermarket gauges (oil, temp,Alt) The gas gauge does not seem to work and again I have not checked it out. I currently do not have a spare, but with the buy it now price there will be a tire holding air in the trunk. A lot of work has been put into this car and although not a trailer queen this is a good running and driving and looking car. I do believe I have whats left of the build sheet also! Here's a list of stuff I've done to the car. Interior dome light works as it should along with the rear license plate light. Yes truly a rare cool car. A lot of attention and better looking then most any Maverick!!!! Fresh base coat clear coat PPG paint job. Done on a very solid body. The trunk and floorboards look pretty nice and all work was done at Anderson Customs of Menahga, MN there phone number is 218-564-5164 if you have any questions call and ask for Mike he is the owner. This guy does ALL my body work on all of my stuff and does nice work!!! The color was upgraded as the car was a ugly metallic blue and now is the 04 and up Grabber blue seen on Mustangs. Light undercoating applied to most area underneath. Wheel wells etc.... While apart. Interior metal parts of doors and front behind dash and behind rear speaker shelf resprayed. New front windshield and front windshield molding as well as the rear glass being removed and reset New door weatherstripping as well as trunk weatherstripping New Grabber decal kit. Professionally installed at Anderson Customs Interior of trunk resprayed in a trunk spackle and added factory trunk decal. New high grade correct style carpet installed New dash pad cover installed New headliner installed as well as bulb and new dome light cover Perfect factory rear speaker tray, resprayed along with metal on both interior doors and metal in rear behind the rear speaker and metal in front of the dash (In correct factory color) The 40 year old factory 6 x 9 speakers were replaced with new Kenwood 3 way speaker(s) I'm sure I'm forgetting things! Replaced by the previous owner. Wheels. Tires have less then 500 miles on them. All 4 shocks. front end components and brakes. Brakes work well and do nothing funny and do not pull one way or the other. Front disc brakes. 5 lug wheels. I am told the engine was just freshened up and not totally rebuilt. He said it got a timing chain, cam and lifters, aluminum intake, Holley carb and headers all done at the same time. Along with a shift kit in the tranny and a aftermarket floor shifter (stock auto on column remains intact and with the linkage could be re-hooked back up without to much trouble. FOR MY BUY IT NOW PRICE YOU COULD NOT BUILD THIS CAR!!!!! Please do not hesitate to call with any questions and pre-inspection is welcome and encouraged! My number is 218-252-4828. A few more details. The grille is in nice shape. Bumpers are not perfect but decent driver quality. I put a reasonable buy it now, just because I can't stand when people do not have a buy it now. Reserve is close to the buy it now. So please do not waste my time or yours dreaming your going to get a car like this for $5,000!!!! I reserve the right to end the auction at any time because I say so. Car is sold AS IS like any used car. No surprises with this car it is as described and you can look at my feedback, I do care!! Wow. I have been having fun driving this car!! Just logged over 200 miles this weekend!! Engine runs great! Again, no funny noises or smoke! Watched under the car for 10 minutes or so. Not a single drip of ANYTHING!! Why would you have a Camaro or mustang when you can have and ultra cool, hardly ever seen car!! I believe all the Grabber stuff was taken from a 1972. Making the car look much nicer with the hood and the small bumpers. ALL body panels were original and what was funny was the car only had 1 repaint and they only painted the top half of the car! (sun faded I presume) The car did have a vinyl top at one time. This was removed and it was RUST free and smooth as can be and the holes for the trim were welded. No surprises here just a cool old car that is ready to be driven anywhere. Right NOW!!! Heck, the factory 40 year old radio sounds pretty alright with new speakers installed!! The engine compartment could stand to be redone (which I will do this winter if I do not sell the car!) But is not bad. The engine looks pretty clean and not full of oil or grease. Again this is a factory AC car and it would not take much to put it back! No power steering ( light car turns easily!) And no power brakes, but disc and they work very well! Please ask any questions or take a look!! Thanks and good luck. Remember I do not mess around. My buy it now is very close to my reserve. Please do not bid unless you intend to PAY!! If you hit the buy it now and you are not flying in I will deliver the car (it will be driven not trailered!) After paid in full up to 200 miles from my Park Rapids MN 56470 address. Or if you want to pick it up at my house and are not flying in. You can hit the buy it now and subtract $100.00. I would consider a trade on a nice 4 x 4 crew cab =, preferably a Ford Super-duty with a Gas engine, but that is about the only thing I may consider..... Thank you and good luck!! Bid to win this gem. On Jul-02-12 at 15:57:52 PDT, seller added the following information: For the record. Put app another 200 miles on the car this weekend. Pleasent and having a blast. Engine sounds GREAT!!!! Not sure what the mufflers are, but between the cam and headers and exhaust this thing sounds good!!! I'm lowering the buy it now price by $500.00 in and effort to help offset the cost of shipping or pickup. Hope this helps. If you are holding back because of the economy, I urge you to say so what! Life is short. Why save it for the kids to fight over. I have been enjoying this car and the miles will continue to go up because I seem to be driving it every day! I will still pick someone up at the airport, but the full tank of gas is gone and I have to think about the delivery with the fact I subtracted $500.00 . If you have the minset that you can build a car like this for $9,000 please think again. I almost consider this a surviver. The seat upholstery should be redone at some point, these are the original seats (my god they are 40 years old!) They do look pretty decent though!! This car will take up alot of your time! Girls will drive by and scream they love your car. No matter where you stop people will talk to you and the one cool thing I like about it is everyone knows it is a MAVERICK!!! My AMC javelin's have been called a mustang, camaro and even a challenger! But know one mistakes this! I will say the stripe and paint combo look sweet! Probably for me the best looking combo I have seen, Seriously. Do not hesitate to ask questions. I have ALOT of watchers. Take a look at my feedback. I describe my items properly to my knowledge! I CARE! Thanks and good luck!On Jul-04-12 at 10:03:20 PDT, seller added the following information: I added a couple more photos. A close up of the roof, just showing how nice the color and shine and smoothness. A photo of the spare parts. AC condenser and 2 rims and factory beauty rings and center caps. I also changed the oil and filter for your ride home! Put on another 50 miles last night, went to a tavern for a beer. rollled up and a guy (outside drinking) starts a conversation. And tells me back in the day one night a 302 Maverick gave his Camaro fits! Long story short. LONG LIVE THE MAVERICK!! And this is why I DO NOT drive belly button cars (Everyone has one!) ALL SIDE STUFF IS OFF!!!!! I lowered the buy it NOW price another $500 for a total of $1,000 in savings. THIS IS THE LAST TIME IT WILL BE LOWERED!!!!! A quick tid bit. I never knew it, but once reserve is met the buy it now option is GONE!!! And the item can sell for more then the buy it now was originally at!! Could of got a RUPP Magnum snowmobile for $3,500 Buy it now. Next thing I know I waited a day and bam, the buy it now was gone! Darn thing sold for $4,700!!! On saturday morning I will try to get a spare tire and spare tire mount at a nearby junkyard. I also lowered the reserve. Thankyou and good luck. PLEASE NOTE: IT DOES NOT SAY IT, BUT A $500 non refundable deposit is due within 48 Hours of auction ending or Buy it now hit. For some reason it will not let me do it, even though that is how I had it set up! Sorry if any confusion!!On Jul-06-12 at 10:06:54 PDT, seller added the following information: PLEASE NOTE: Feel confident bidding! I have sold cars to as far away as FRANCE!! I will work with your shipper if needed. I also for NO CHARGE will leave this car parked IN MY GARAGE for up to 30 days with a car cover on it. While you get your shipping in order (you will have to insure it yourself!!) But it will be inside AND NOT DRIVEN!!! Remember side stuff is off, but still willing to pickup at Bemidji airport if needed! Also my body shop has a little paint left over. I will include in sale for touch up down the road. Happy bidding and good luck on this car. LONG LIVE THE MAVERICK!!!! On Jul-07-12 at 06:35:28 PDT, seller added the following information: PLEASE NOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!PLEASE NOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!PLEASE NOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For you 100 plus watchers. Please remember there is a $500.00 non refundable deposit required within 48 hours of auction end. DO NOT LET THIS CAR GET AWAY!!!! If it sells for what it is bid at I will be losing ALOT of money and will most certainly never fix up a MAVERICK again. To find a car this solid is tough to do! And again the mileage could very well be actual!!(39,000) DON"T miss out. Bid on this car to win!!!
