Up for auction with NO RESERVE is a 1998 Volkswagen Passat. It is very important that you read the entire description before bidding on this vehicle. This Passat has the 2.8L V6 and 5-speed manual transmission. This vehicle does NOT run properly. It has developed some issues since I purchased it that will need to be immediately addressed by the new owner. The engine has a LOW OIL PRESSURE warning light. There is still some oil circulation. I can see oil flow around the cams when looking through the oil fill and the engine is not clattering like a completely un-lubricated engine. The oil is not dark or sludgy and I do not see metal flakes in it. Due to this issue, I have not driven this vehicle more than across the parking lot. In the short distance I drove at low speed, the transmission, clutch, and suspension feel like they are in good order. This vehicle is in need of a rebuilt or repaired ABS control module. The ABS and BRAKE warning lights are on. Cosmetically the vehicle is in very good shape for the age and mileage. The black leather interior is in very good condition. The seats do not have any holes or tears. The only worn spot is on the driver's seat bolster which is the spot that gets rubbed every time some gets in or out. The carpet and headliner are in excellent condition. The stereo in the vehicle does not function. It does not have a faceplate and appears to have some damage. The power windows, power mirrors, and power sunroof all work as they should. The exterior is in average condition for the age and miles. The silver paint shows well. As you can see in the pics, there is damage to the front bumper cover. Be aware: This vehicle is being sold as IN NEED OF REPAIR. It is not a properly running/driving vehicle. I am not a mechanic and do not know specifically what is wrong with the car, nor do I have any way to estimate what the cost would be to repair it.
