Vehicle Detail
We have for sale a 1999 Honda Civic EX in good running condition. The interior shows minimal wear and is extra clean. We bought this car with a Salvage title at 85,000 miles and have driven it until now with almost no repairs whatsoever. We recently bought a CR-V since we needed a bigger vehicle. Options include - power locks and child locks, power windows, tilt, cruise, cold air, cd (aftermarket stereo), automatic transmission, ;and sliding sunroof. Since owning the car, we have serviced it regularly, and it uses no oil between changes. In town we average 30mpg and on the highway we have hit as high as 40mpg, although 36mpg is more common. We installed a new timing belt and water pump at about 185k, new muffler about 6 months ago, and new tie rods and struts within the last 10k miles. The car runs well and we would not hesitate to drive it on a trip. (We actually drove it on a 12 hour trip about a month ago with no problems). The car was repaired from the accident that gave it the salvage title before we purchased it. It had been hit on the front passenger side (we think). After owning it, my wife was rear ended while she was parked and we replaced the trunk with a trunk off of another Civic. (the new trunk says LX although the car is actually an EX). We have NEVER had to do any major repairs since owning this car. It has been the most reliable vehicle we've driven. Problems: We waited too long to put new struts in and it caused uneven wear on the tires. As a result you can feel a vibration when you drive the car. We've been driving it this way for about 15k. We haven't replaced the tires yet because they still have 1/3-1/2 tread left. (If the auction reaches $3000, I'll buy new tires for it.) The rotors need turned or replaced; when you step hard on the brakes while going fast, the car shakes. There are several places on the body where the paint has been scratched and touched up as well as some cracks along the bottom of the front bumper. If you're looking for a pristine new car, this isn't it, but if you are looking for a nice, reliable, good looking car with great mpg, this may be for you. I would give the interior a 7/10 and the exterior about a 6/10. Reliability for us has honestly been a 9/10. I'll try to provide some good pics of the car, but I encourage you to come look at it yourself. I want the winning bidder to be pleased with what you've purchased. This car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to reject any and all bids or to end this auction early. Thanks, Tim 816 261-3705
