Vehicle Detail

This is my very sweet 1945 International HarvesterK^ dump truck I bought from my buddies grandfather who was the local IH dealer here in New Mexico. This truck has had 3 owners since 1945 and has had only one repaint and it will buff out. This was the old mans pride and joy and he would have garaged it if his garage was big enough. Kept under a sun shed for years this little honey was started on a regular basis and driven in parades on occaision as well. I just has the starter redone and it will purr again. Dump truck bed is original stakeside bed from IH and is a functioning bed. This truck sold for $7,000.00 new in 1945 and was one of only a few made due to the war effort and metal use. I am aware of the raeity of this truck so please no $1200 offers or slanderous emails knocking this pearl please. I will provide more pictures as requested. enjoy and bid every five minutes to be sure you win. No paypal on this. Cash is King here in flattown. On Jun-25-12 at 15:51:38 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello again. I have misplaced the starter bolts to the truck, but I will attcempt to pull start it to shoot a short video of it... but this late in the game I cannot gaurantee success. I have seen this beatiful truck start and run and drive in our town homecoming parade with children throwing candy from it to the crowds as they cheered when it drove past. I will do my best to make a running video before I can no longer revise and upload. This truck is indeed a dump bed truck and is known as a "Corn Binder" by local ag folk. It was used for decades catching and hauling sweet corn and later silage from feild to storage. This truck is over 70 SEVENTY years old!!! It is considered an antique vehicle. I have removed the white trime peices from the grill for transport as they were removed when I bought it. The truck comes with a complete second grill from a 1945 K5 truck as I could not pass it up and will most likely never see one again.... let alone 24 hours after buying this grill. Not to be a superstitious person but..... I think the grill should stay with the truck. I bought it cause the trim peices are stainless steel. The driver door glass has a single crack in it that runs completely diagonly across it, but I cannot get it to show in a photograph. The rest of the glass is in perfect condition including the hand crank opening windsheild which is a needed thing in the summertime and a very cool feature....well, just "becuase". The cab will need a wrap style headliner that oddly enough can be found here on ebay for just over $150, last I checked on it. This can serve as many things, such as advertising an adition to your collection, a museum peice or use it tear off your roof... like I did. Still earning an honest living at such a ripe age. You wont find another of its kind for sale. Happy bidding.
