My '73 tii, there are many details here. Quick summary: well sorted, sharp INKA tii with most work done. Details compiled through my ownership and previous owners: Original California car, with a factory rebuild tii engine, worked on by Mike Brown in LA---installed a 5 speed and rebuilt the kugelfischer pump about 10 years ago. Idles well searching for idle as a Tii should, ticking as a Tii should, doesn't overheat, per the previous owner--the temp gauge will start climbing in heavy traffic but it never come close to overheating even on the NYC expressways. The rebuilt engine probably has around 70k on it. All total the car has around 161k miles (odo turned over once according to the previous owner). The odometer also stopped working at some point recently. There's a newer 5 speed in the car, with about 5k miles on it, and the old one--Getrag transmission that can be rebuilt and sold or kept as a spare (car will be sold with spare in trunk). Around 10 years ago the car was stripped down and resprayed. At that time per previous owner, rust issues which were small at the time were taken care of, as you can see in pics. As mentioned, car is originally from California and had a pretty dry frame to begin with. There are one or two small bubbles appearing near the rear, see pics, but not enough to even notice unless you're looking for them. Car looks absolutely stunning with the ROTA wheels, Pirelli tires. The interior was a big weak spot earlier, changes have been keeping goal to maintain originality of the car in mind: the 6.25 in speakers under rear seats replaced with 6x9 JL speakers--well hidden... the head unit replaced with a Kenwood Pandora (USB, IPOD, XM siruis ready)--detachable face. Sounds phenomenal. Few more positives: the dash and tii clock are in great condition and crack-free, and the car has a comfy set of leather covered recaros, a momo steering wheel and a nice wooden shifter knob. Carpets are in excellent condition. Coco Mats front, rear, and in the trunk (see pics). Horn was recently replaced and works perfectly. For safety, shoulder belts, Hella fog lamps, and 3rd brake light mounted. Electric start. Mid to late last year front brakes completely redone (calipers, rotors, etc.). Suspension system is excellent. All fuel lines were replaced last year, during that 2 month span new battery, wiper blades installed. Cold start was intermittently an issue and wiring was noticed to be spliced, fused together ad hoc, so the car was rewired completely recently with previous wiring removed and redone including wiring harness/grounds/replaced fuses, etc..., subsequently with dramatically less heat in foot wells as an added bonus. The throttle boot also replaced at that time. All said and done approximately $6,000 in work (including labor) since 2009. This car has made multiple trips cross states along East Coast. Depending on your need for speed, in the future with the help of a loving mechanic you may want to look at refreshing the mechanicals of the engine. The gas gauge is temperamental, I suspect fuel sending unit since this was replaced some time back and is delicate, there is communication with the gauge since needle responds when connection is disconnected from the trunk. The unit is a $125 part, I may have this done if time allows (mechanic is 2 hrs. away) or give this credit accordingly to buyer after purchase. Given the age of the car, there are no warranties implied or expressed, this is an obvious point but needs to be stated. Many hours of professional labor went into this car. I encourage buyers to personally inspect and bring a mechanic as all sales are final, buyer to arrange transportation within 2 wks of sale, I will be available to assist communication with buyer's transportation company and do my best to facilitate wherever I can. Please research your transportation company carefully as this is a near 40 year old car and needs gentle hands to transport.
