Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on my 1984 Pininfarina Spider. It has 54k miles and is a 5 speed. I have owned it for about 10 years now. I bought it, drove it into my garage, and it's been there ever since. I am a reputable person and have been involved with Fiats and the Fiat community for over 25 years. It needs full restoration. I wouldn't try to start it because it has been sitting for 10 years. The gas is not good in the tank. It will need to have the fuel lines and tank cleaned out. When I bought it, the previous owner told me that it popped out of either 2nd or 4 gear when driving. I don't remember which gear it was. This is a classic sign of synchro wear. No big deal for a mechanic to fix. There is some rust in the quarter panel arches and at the bottom of the driver's door. It's not too bad and it's the only rust on the car. Quarter panel arch repair sections can be purchased pretty cheaply. The roof needs to be replaced. I have done it before myself. It's not a hard job. I am meticulous, so I made sure that the top was completey perfect. -It took me about 6 hours the first time I did one with common tools. The tires are dry rotted, but will hold air. There is no battery. The interior is in really good shape. There are 2 main cracks in the center of the dash, but they haven't curled and can be repaired. The seat leather is dry, but i feel is salvageable with some soaking with mink oil. Overall, you could clean it up and live with it the way it is. There was a radio in a Bensi box, but I have no idea where it is, so let's say it has no radio. The car can be restored to mint condition. That's why I bought it. Right now, it would just take more time than I have at the moment with two young children, a wife, a job and a home that all need my attention. The outdoor pics are from the day I picked up the car and the indoor ones are from last week. Buyer is responsible for pickup/scheduling pickup.
