Up for your consideration is this great 1989 Ford Mustang 5.0 Lx. I bought this car from the first and only owner who lived in San Diego California area. This car is my daily driver, but it does have high miles and does not run perfectly. This car needs a tune up and the transmission serviced. I am not positive what is wrong with the transmission. The car drives better in drive. When the car is in overdrive, once it hits about 50 mph it does not shift up. The rpms just increase while the car continues to go 50 mph. This I heard can be from the tv cable not being properly adjusted or can be that the shifting linkage needs to be tightened up. I am not a mechanic and have no idea to what extent the transmission needs to be serviced. I am letting you know everything that I know about the car. I originally bought this as a second project car. I bought the car because it was a rust free, one owner, straight body, california car. This is why I was not concerned with the high mileage, as I was planning on replacing almost everything from the front to the back of the car mechanically. Unfortuneatly I have received two dui's lately and I can no longer afford a project car because in the next couple of years I am looking at approximately 15,000 dollars in fines which was most of my budget for this car. I took as many pictures as I could to accureately display the car. After the pictures of the audio system I took pictures of all of the minor defects of the car. Overall most of these defects would go unnoticed to most people but I figured I didn't want there to be any surprises for the buyer. The scratches on the front bumper are covered by the license plate mount which will be included with the car, I just took it off to show the defects. The entire audio system will be removed prior to sell unless something is worked out with the buyer and me. Honestly, with new trim the outside of the car would look awesome. The interior is in pretty good shape with normal 1989 mustang defects, but in overall good condition. I will be leaving the aftermarket kickpanel door speaker mounts with the car.
