I acquired this car from an old friend that no longer had a garage to store it. He purchased it from a Mazda dealer in 1983 with 5800 miles, and then immediately converted it to it's present state. All work was performed by Autotrix Mazda specialists in Huntington, New York. At the time, the motor was dyno'ed at 355HP. At approximately 2000 lbs with the fibergrass bodywork, it was very quick. The original mileage is now 18,685. This car has always been stored indoors in Long Island, NY. Modifications include: ENGINE: Turbocharged, intercooled 13B motor HKS in-cockpit adjustable boost control knob VDO boost gauge Weber 40 IDF dual barrel carburetor, K&N filter MSD ignition, Racing Beat wires Custom exhaust The car was gone through by a local shop, and starts up effortlessly. Idles smooth and drives well around town. It sounds like the carberator/fuel delivery could use some tuning for a smoother power delivery in high RPM range. EXTERIOR: Kent body kit; consists of flared front fenders, front bumper w/integrated intercooler, rear wheel flares, and rear deck spoiler. SSR 3 piece wheels. Front 225/50 VR 15 Pirelli P7. Rear 285/50 VR 15 BFGoodrich Comp TA. Tires are original, and therefore somewhat dryrotted. Originally silver, the car was painted black when the body kit was installed in 1983. Being 29 years old, the paint is in serious need of refinishing. There are chips, cracks, and haziness in the paint in several areas. However, the body is generally in very good condition, with no rust, dings and only one 3" crease dent on the front panel in front of hood that I could find. INTERIOR: Incredible original condition. Konig sport seats, also in beautiful condition. Carpets, door panels and headliner all in near perfect condition Everything works, including A/C, window lifts, sunroof, all gauges and switchgear 1980's Alpine stereo system - Altec Lansing drivers, Boston Acoustics midrange & tweeters, Alpine 100w amp SUSPENSION: Stock. Tokico rear shocks This could make a great track car with a suspension upgrade and new rubber. Or put on a fresh coat of paint for street use. Email me with any questions.
