Vehicle Detail
History: I am the 3rd owner of the car, originally from California, and it is painful for me to put up for sale. It has been a fun car to drive and I will buy another when the time is right. Whomever purchases this 928S will have a fast and fun car to drive immediately and with a little bit of updating, will have an awesome car to show off for years to come. Condition: Although, not a show car, for a 27 year old car, she is in pretty good shape. The paint is probably a 6.5 out of 10. One small dent behind wheel on front left 1/4 panel, but does not affect door opening or closing. (See pic) All other body parts are in good condition. All exterior running lights and headlights work. The interior is in okay condition, but better than most 928s this age I looked at when searching. Cracks on dashboard, a tear on rear console lid and a tear on bolster on the driver's seat. But all other leather is better than I have seen on others. Both power seats work, both electric windows work and power sunroof works. The stereo is an Alpine CD player with an aftermarket subwoofer in the rear hatch area and makes for a fun ride with the right CD playing. The A/C blows cold, but makes a noise on occasion, but can be delt with. I have found that if I leave the fan on II it is fine or if the noise shows up and I turn the fan off and then back to III or IV it is fine. My wife unfortunately bent the drive linkage when using the car one day. Also, her last day driving the car. She was on a slope and tried to put the shifter in gear and forced it instead of easing it. The shifter now throws to park and is just missing by a fraction from engaging the transmission into park. After some research, the part is $200.00 new, $100.00 used, but about $500.00 in labor. I have just put this off and operate the car out of the neutral position as all German cars from this era did not have a safety start switch in neutral. Wipers work but not the washers or headlamp washers. The hatch release buttons do not work either and the interior lights do not work. If I was mechanically inclined, I am sure I could fix the small things that need addressing. They are all very minor and do not affect the daily driving of the vehicle. It has an aftermarket Momo Steering wheel and I believe an aftermarket exhaust. Think of a Flowmaster sound. Lastly, the previous owner tried to reset odometer while moving and broke odometer. So, approximate mileage is about 150,000. I think I covered everything. Any questions or requests for more pics, just let me know.
