This Torino GT would make a great Cobra Torino clone, it has the sought after, strong running "69" 428 Super Cobra Jet. 67ME-A casting number on block for starters on ID. Has the 6090-N heads. 1UA steel crank, and correct harmonic balancer (CJ and SCJ rotating assembly not inter-changable as you know) Has a FoMoCo sidewinder intake, very rare # 9424-J (not sure if the sidewinder is original to the 428?)This engine is built for sheer power, but I do not know what it is on the dyno. Has very low miles since the rebuild form prior owner (I have no paperwork, but you are welcome to inspect it) The ignition is all msd, and electronic ignition (points removed) Just look and see what this motor is worth before you bid, and inspections are welcome. I am told it was out of a Mach 1, and there is a partial vin behind the passenger head (tough to see back there) but that would tell you what exact car it was in. (likely an R code stang Mach) For the Torino, it was sandblasted and sealed. The body and underside is very solid. It will need finishing body work on the decklid (wavy) and trunk-lid (wavy) has minor rust on the driver floor pan, all else looks good. The torque boxes and rails are solid as well. This was originally a 351 2V Torino (Im sure no one is complaining about the 428 being there) Interior is original, and needs love (seat cracked and other misc stuff) Rims and tires are in like new condition with under 1k miles. My mistake, the numbers I was given were incorrect as to the crank and balancer. This is a 68 428, not a 69. On Jun-15-12 at 12:31:41 PDT, seller added the following information: I added a picture of the balancer numbers when I took it off, and included a picture of inside the heads. It is a definite, the numbers call for a 428 Cobra Jet, NOT the SCJ I thought it was all this time. Anyhow, its still a good running/driving car. Today, while driving, I noticed it has a leak in the passenger header underneath the car. The driver floor pan will need to be patched. all others are rust free. Balancer number is C8AE-A1 Head date is 8K15, with 6090-N casting numbers. Everything checks out. If anyone was bidding for it as a 428 SCJ please let me know so I can cancel it for you. Again, its a 68 COBRA JET...NOT a SUPER (same HP however)
