Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is an ALL ORIGINAL STOCK "SURVIVOR" 1984 Pontiac Firebird Trans-AM! This beautiful example has only 57,000 actual miles, has always been adult owned, and has never been modified or restored! It still has its original paint, stripes, emblems, and interior. Has always been garage kept and never driven in snow or salt. This is a nice "loaded" example with the following features: 5.0 Liter (305 cubic inch) high output 4 barrel V8 Automatic Transmission Power Steering & Power 4 Wheel Disc Brakes Power Locks Power Seat Power Windows Power Mirrors Tilt Steering Wheel Rear Defogger Alloy Wheels Am/Fm/CD Stereo System Air Conditioning (retrofitted to the modern 134-A freon) About the only 2 options this car does not have are T-Tops and Cruise Control. This car is super clean in and out! Original paint still has a nice shine! Just a few small touch-ups with an artist brush due to minor stone chips as you would expect with any used car. This one doesn't even have many of the usual "door dings" that you typically see on cars more than a couple years old. Clearly, this one was babied and not left in parking lots very much. All the power equipment works. The interior is immaculate! No rips in seats, cracks in dash, droopy headliner etc. Everything looks neat and tidy. Trunk compartment is also immaculate. Engine compartment is original, un-restored, and un-modified. I purposely did not detail under the hood so you can see that it is not greasy or oily, and that nothing has been covered up. Car has all original sheet metal. Also, underside is also very clean. Not scaly or rusted. Floor pans are fine. This Trans Am is a lot of fun to drive! It handles well, and is very nimble and responsive! Gas mileage is surprisingly good! I have been getting 19-20 MPG local and 22-24 MPG highway, on 87 octane regular unleaded. Recent items updated/replaced include tires, brakes, exhaust, and battery; in short all the normal things you would expect to do. Also, the air conditioning was changed over to 134-A freon. This car runs and drives as you would expect of a well cared for low mileage original. I know of no issues with this beauty. Just get in, enjoy, and have fun! Only non original item is the modern CD stereo which was neatly and tastefully installed in the original radio slot with no problems. Here is a way to get into the antique car hobby and go to shows and cruise-ins at a price that won't break the bank. You don't have to skin your knuckles and restore anything, just enjoy yourself! Also this car could be used as regular transportation and won't depreciate if you take care of it. Remember, a car is only original once! If someone GAVE you a project car, you could not make it into this car for what you can buy this one for! "Survivor" un-restored original cars are the up and coming thing in the collector car hobby! Don't miss this nice one! Please call with any questions at 704-661-1326. I am in and out a lot, so please leave a message. I will call you back promptly. NO RESERVE! NO RESERVE! NO RESERVE! About Me: I have collected and fooled with old cars for the past 30 years. I like original "Survivor" cars and keep a "rotating collection" of 6 to 8 such vehicles from the late 1950s to early 1980s. I live half the year in the Carolinas, and the other half in the mountains of Upstate New York, half way between Albany and Syracuse. This car is at my summer home. Please call me at 704-661-1326 with any questions. Leave message if not in. Now for the rules: 1. Your bid is a contract! If you are the successful bidder, you are expected to pay! Please have all contingencies handled and your money in place BEFORE you bid! No retractions will be allowed, so be sure BEFORE you bid! 2. A NON-REFUNDABLE $1500 partial payment is due within 48 hours of auction's conclusion. This can be by bank wire transfer or cashiers check. Pay Pal is NOT acceptable for this. 3. Balance is due within 6 days of auction's close. This can be by bank wire transfer, cashiers check or cash in person. If you are paying balance upon pickup of car, it must be cash in person. 4. Car and title will not leave here until paid in full with cleared funds. No exceptions! 5. Car is sold strictly as-is at my premisies with no guarantee or warranty of any kind. 6. Transportation is the buyer's responsibility. I will try to reasonably help and accommodate you any way I can, but it still YOUR responsibility. 7. If you cannot pick up car immediately, that is fine, it can be left here for a reasonable period. However, it still must be paid for within the 6 days, and you should secure insurance as I cannot be responsible for loss or damage due to circumstances beyond my control or act of God. 8. An administrative fee of $125.00 will be charged in addition to the bid price. This goes toward my advertising expenses, paperwork, temp tag, etc. It does not cover all of these expenses, but goes toward defraying some of them. 9. Car is advertised locally for sale. If I find a buyer through that venue, I reserve the right to end auction early. Please call me at 704-661-1326 with any further questions about this. I am sorry for all the rules, but it seems that 5% of difficult people spoil it for the 95% who are good. Thanks very much for looking! Again, please feel free to call 704-661-1326 with any questions.
