Vehicle Detail

1950 Dodge B2B Pilothouse Low sides 1/2 ton pickup with 41,140 miles and it shows. It has the original red paint on the cab and recent flat black on the box. This is a deluxe cab with vent windows in the doors, fully lined cab in leather look fiber board including headliner, kick panels and door panels. It has the original radio (not working), twin sun visors, air bag seat and original seat upholstery in very good condition (one small tear). The dash knobs and gauges are excellent and working as they should. There is no rust anywhere except in the left front fender bolt area (see photo). All the glass is excellent except the driver side wing vent which has multiple cracks. The truck has the original BullsEye headlights that came with the truck when new and they are perfect and working. Turn signals were added at some point and work good. The floor is like new. I took all the floor panels apart and cleaned and painted them and replaced all the felt gaskets between seams just like the originals. There was absolutely no rust anywhere in the cab except as noted in the left front fender bolt. The truck has been garaged every night since I bought it and the original owner told me the same thing, it looks like it. It has a flat head six with a granny low 4 speed transmission. I put EverDry spark plug boots on the plugs too. The engine was stuck when I bought it so I pulled the engine and had it rebuilt, bored .030 over to clean up the cylinders, new pistons, valves, rings, bearings. oil pump, etc. The bad news is that when I installed the engine and fired it up I saw coolant leaking from the frost plugs. The frost plugs were installed backwards and do not seal. This all happened about 7-8 months after I took the engine home from the shop. I had had some back problems and could not do any work for about 6 months so my project had to wait for me to heal. After seeing the coolant leak I let the engine run only long enough to set the timing and adjust the carb. It had great oil pressure and all the gauges worked fine. After letting the engine run for 10-15 minutes I shut it off and called the engine shop that rebuilt it. They said I waited too long and their warranty was only for 90 days. I was not a happy guy at this point. I drained the coolant and gas and then fogged the cylinders with fogging oil and covered the truck in my garage. I got renewed interest a few months later and did the brakes, cylinders, shoes, hoses and lines. I took the box apart and offf the frame to do the rear brakes and clean and paint the frame with epoxy black from the cab back. The box floor is original and looks pretty good with some boards split but very solid and usable. There is a 3 speed blower for the heater and defroster and it works like it should and vacuum wipers. I just did a cold compression test and all cylinders showed 90 psi. I hot test would read much higher and the rings are not seated yet either since it was run for such a short time. I am selling it because I am now engaged and will be moving within the year and so most of my toys will be for sale. Sadly I won't get to finish and drive this really cool truck. Trucks this nice are very rare and rarely for sale so don't miss this opportunity. Included but possibly not shown are the original radio tube box, another Motorola 6 volt radio for parts (they both light up all the tubes but only buzz). Also included is a roll of extra door weatherstripping, enough fender welt to do two trucks, a fifth correct hub cap in good shape, the original owner manual, a new spare tire under the box (see photo), a NOS extra gas peddle, original jack and tire iron, and a like new Bolser kerosene flare set mounted on the passenger side of the box (see photo). What needs to be done: install included front brake hoses and lines, install correctly new frost plugs, adjust clutch peddle linkage,(has a new clutch installed already). I may be forgetting something so ask questions here or call 402 785 5700 evenings. I can take more pics if there is something you want to see that I have not posted. Trailering info: wheelbase is 108", overall length is about 186" and width from outside of tire to outside of tire is 70", any other measurements needed? Weight is about 3750 lbs. On Jun-06-12 at 09:53:50 PDT, seller added the following information: I had a question about the red paint on the truck. Yes it is all original but does have a lot of small scratches that don't show up in the photos and a couple of small dings. I used a good cleaner wax to shine it up while the box was off so even the back bottom of the cab is waxed. I waxed the firewall and engine compartment while the engine was out.On Jun-12-12 at 05:51:50 PDT, seller added the following information: The buyer must contact me about picking up the truck after the auction. It can remain inside my garage for up to 30 days while you arrange shipping, trailering, etc but initial down payment of $500 to PayPal is still required as stated in the listing and the title will not be delivered until all funds have cleared.
