Vehicle Detail
This is a 1959 MGA that I helped restore in the early 1980s. I rebuilt the engine, transmission, and did some of the rewiring for a customer back then. The car was sold and lived elsewhere out of town for many years. A few years ago the car came back into my life and at first I didn't realize it was the same car I had helped restore. This was a no expense spared , frame off, every nut and bolt turned kind of restoration done 30 years ago. I have recently gone through the hydraulics and had White Post sleeve and rebuild the master cylinder. I put new viton tip needle and seats in the carbs and replaced one float. A couple of weeks ago I drove the car to a local AACA car show and it got a first place. The top and tonneau are canvas, the seats are leather and the tool kit has all the wrenches, sockets, spanners, jack, hand crank, etc.Being that this car was restored some 30 years ago it is now showing cosmetic issues. The paint has bubbles and areas all over the car that are starting to lift. I took a picture of the largest spot on the top of the right rear fender. Most if not all defects in the paint will not show up in the pictures. Unless you get closer than 10 feet and in the right angle of light they are hard to see. This is not a rust issue just old paint. It's a great driver as is or ready for the show field with fresh paint. The under side of the car looks better than the top side, very very clean. The upholstered door capping are showing corrosion on the aluminum under the tan covering. The car still wears 48 spoke wires and has Michelin XZX 165SR15 tires. The engine still runs great, 60psi oil pressure and the trans shifts great and feels as it should. This car can be bought much cheaper than trying to restore a project car. A $500 deposit via paypal within 48 hours at the end of the auction please
